Who doesn't like the idea of finally getting to fly a faction ship? You scrimp, save and horde your ISK to finally go into contracts and purchase that Apocalypse Navy Issue. Now you are styling!

However, your dream is to fly it with all Navy issue mods. Unfortunately the cost/benefit is completely out of reality so you go back to putting T2 mods on your 500mil ISK ship. What to do?

How about giving faction ships extra bonuses for using the correct faction gear. Continuing to use the Navy Apoc as an example, how about give it a bonus to either damage or less power usage for using a minimum of 4 Imperial Navy Mega Pulse.

You could do this down the line with all faction ships by giving them bonuses for particular use of faction gear.

why not simple have cumlative bonus's for using X-faction mods, like for every 1 navy module every mega pulse uses 1% less cap or gets 2% more damage so spendign that extra 500M for 6 navy shield hardeners would give you an addiitional 6% less cap usage or 12% more damage. not game breaking but makes having the best provide the best. with the only down side is that your ship is worth more that quaff pressed gold

No, thanks seriously for the input.. Rolling Eyes

What good is having faction ships without a special faction bonus, however slight or strong the devs might make it? I see three things happening if this were implemented.
1. A rise in price of faction gear. This obviously would be the result.
2. More mission running to earn the LP needed to get faction gear.
3. Last but not least, more faction ships in PvP.

it is like collecting full set body armor in fantasy role playing games. Armor of the damned set, armor of the seraphim... etc. etc.

I do not think that this is any good... It would make full sets a standard requirement.

I think it is nice idea - but I will limit bonuses to slots.
Eq. ONLY if all high slots are full of that faction modules, then you will get 2% bonus to them

2% to damage for high slots - for mid/low slots - you will get 2% less cap drain/boost bonus - depending on faction and thier tanks :).

and if ship is fully fited with only thier faction stuff, then you will get 3% to overall performance (this include speed too). Of course, previous bonuses are not cumulative.

Faction ships, modules and ammunitions are already stronger than the normal/named version and with very few exception they are stronger than T2 versions of the same module/ammunition/ship.

You feel that a 12% extra damage because you mount 6 navy pulse is "right". I don't know were you come from but for that kind of damage increase on one weapon (not on a whole rack) in eve you pay teens of billions, you don't get it because you are using a few navy modules on a navy ship.

Even a 1,2% advantage over T2 would be a big issue in EVE, worth in the high teens or low hundreds of millions.

So what you are asking is vastly overpowered.

learn how this game is balanced before making this kind of suggestions.

I've thought about this before, and the only thing I could think that wasn't OP/worthless was module HP.

eg
CN mods fitted to a CN hull get a % bonus to their hp, allowing for more overheating.

yep...because with so much gear available its really just better to run only a few items in the game Rolling Eyes Or if you have some ships where you look at slots and go....this scorpion/raven might just armor tank half decent. Wtf, try it out cause after 9 months of the same fit it gets stale as hell. Nope can't do it. Have to make your ship like everyone else to get that bonus.

Full faction fit has its advantages already. Impossible fits made possible, crazy stupid boosts often not needing max fitting skills. They don't need more. If you need to shave off that 30 seconds to a minute on your extravaganza time that bad, pretend eve is an mmo and bring friends (or run an alt dual boxed).
