Well... It's rigged. Sort of. Or 4chan is being a bit more subtle with their voting this time.

In any case, General RAAM has won over Shao Khan and Sephiroth (!) so far, but i bet that almost none of you know who the guy is as opposed to the other two. Right now he's narrowly beating out Dr. Breen with not much time left...

Will you let this 4chan puppet win?

edit: Right, "4chan" has been censored on the Gamespot boards. Hilarity ensues!

Best is Irenicus.

The Joker and Darth Vader made it to the quarter finals.

I'm gonna go cry now.

If they win now, and then don't get paired off against each other, we may have them in the final against each other.

A movie villain and a comic book villain facing off for the title of best video game villain. Crying or Very sad

The voice acting of David Warner was what made that character really shine.

It's a competition between characters who have appeared as villains in videogames. It doesn't and shouldn't matter where the characters originated from. Not to mention these are popularity contest by necessity, since most people have propably not even heard about all the villains and certainly have not played most of the games they come from.

Team Rocket should have won against Breen. Breen is a tool, not a villain, the real villains in Half Life are the Aliens.

Team Rocket, on the other hand, are just pure evil.

I ask you, what are these horrible excuses for villians?

Lets say any of them have a nuclear weapon in a silo prepped for launch. Our hero comes along and foils his dastardly plan to launch the missile.
Any of these so called villains would be content to cede their villain card to the hero and be cast out.
No, this is not what should be done. The villain should take the initiative AND BLOW UP THE NUKE WHERE IT LIES, thus foiling our intrepid hero's journey.

*sigh* tis a shame really. NEXUS for greatest hero!

What no SHODAN, GLaDOS or Kane. Kanes intro in original C&C was great. "Power shifts more quickly than some people think"

Dr. Breen currently has 50.1%! I think he was a great villain.

GLaDOS beat Shodan, Andrew Ryan beat Kane.

Are you saying they were in the contest, but were beaten and removed from it, or is the above your own opinion?

EDIT: I see it's the former.

Shodan is the only villain I would have been bothered voting for. The only one that comes to mind as worthy.

EDIT2:

Confirmed by going through the villain list. All the others are forgettable nobodies.

Ok, that discount thing was probably not going to happen anyways. Now have full support for RAAM.

So the final is going to be between RAAM and Joker.

This is just a complete farce.

And Qui Shon: Shodan is indeed worthy, but so are others. GLaDOS, while being funny, is still a proper villain and an excellent counterpart for Shodan. Sephiroth, as cliche as he is *as* a game villain is still one of the best ones out there. Irenicus is also up there - David Warner's VO alone makes him ridiculously evil, let alone what the character actually does. I didn't know Giygas, but after reading up a bit on him he seems to be very worthy aswell.

And none of these villains made the cut. Which kinda makes me wonder whether political elections play out in the same way. Completely ignoring agendas and voting for the one who wears the nicest suit or who's made you laugh most recently. Come to think of it, that does happen, doesn't it?

This competition is hilarious at this point. I don't think any of the final 4 would even get to my top 10 VG villain list. I don't know who RAAM is, Kerrigan is a generic fallen hero with ****, Joker and Vader are good villains, but their portrayal in VGs hasn't been that interesting. I can only hope that Vader or Joker wins, so at least a good villain wins the thing.
