Eve keeps taking up 100+% cpu on my computer while running trough wine, i've used wine 1.3 and reverted to 1.2 but still, same problem.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
Or is it just me? I think i might have to just revert to 10.04... :(

I know this is a pretty general description of a problem, but if anyone else with ubuntu 10.10 have the same problem. It means ill just have to revert, otherwise, ill have to keep searching.

That's normal for any game. However you can cap framerate and thereby reduce CPU loading by forcing buffer flipping to occur on vsync only. This is done in the graphics driver settings - in my case it is nvidia-settings.

I'm not trying to be rude, or brag or anything. But my computer is very high end, with 10gb ram, i7 3.2GHz and a nvidia GeForce GTX 275.
it shouldnt lag.

On windows, it didnt lag, in ubuntu 9.10 - it didnt lag..

But in 10.10 it does.. I'm wondering if it could have anything with my graphic card drivers to do.. I am running 64 bit, so there was only one driver available..

I humbly respect your kind words.
They worked for me.

It could be something with 10.10, if it works with 10.04 i'd stick with that until 10.10 is completely finished.

I evemailed Solbright regarding this but I figure I'll ask here too.

I think I'm having this problem on my laptop but I have an intel video card in it. Can't for the life of me figure out where this setting is in my driver.

Any help would be great.

Ubuntu 10.04 x64
Core i5 (using the built in Intel HD GMA :( )
4gb ram
In a Lenovo T410.
