Which one do you all think I should take to final and submit?

I like K the best, I think, followed closely by B and J.

They're all quite good, though. Well done!

H is like a bigger, meaner anathema, which is a shame I guess because it might speak against it.

F, I and L though, vertical love for amarr plz

I was leaning towards F, I, and L as well Khors. They would bring something new to the Amarr but hopefully still maintain the distinctive Amarr style.

Also, check out these cool Caldari and Minmatar creations that people just submitted:

I rather like H, L, J, and B, in roughly that order.

Would love a Seraphim-looking concept for an interceptor or assault frig (six very pointy, swept-back wings with forward reaching guns/sensor arrays/pointy things from each).

H is indeed good, looks like a medieval armor/shield, something that CCP has used in many Amarr designs, but I would go for a more original desing, and that would be E in my opinion; maybe it could be adapted to be a desing for the blood raiders or something [bhallgorn looks like armageddon :(]? L and I are too reminiscent of the myrmidon, so they go down in my preference list, but K and B are also nice, and if you work a bit more on the front part, they would become awesome (they look to much like rogue drone ships the way they are now).

Just my 2 cents, it is your design and I know how annoying it is sometimes when people argue about how your stuff would be better :P I just hope I didn't offend/annoy you, since the designs look really proffessional and (unlike most others in this contest) really remind you of the faction they belong to :D

TLDR: Fave is E for originality, H is good also, K and B are nice but remind me too much of rogue drones, whilst L and I look like the myrmidon (-1 originality)

No offense taken, I wouldn't have posted them if I didn't want feedback. I love nerding out about art/concept design and I love nerding out about sci-fi and here we get to do both. So thanks for nerding with me, your thoughts are appreciated. I liked design 'E' as well, it looks like a vulture. And you are correct, there are similarities to the Myrmidon in 'I' and 'L' that I did not recognize. When I scaled the Myrmidon and 'I' to the same height, the protruding section of the front end lined up almost exactly:
http://burhtun.com/sketches/myrmicompare.jpg
Overall same general shape also, but I still think the silhouettes show enough difference. But I will go with L to be safer. This will put the protrusion in the middle of the ship. I think this in addition to the general beefyness of the front face compared to the Myrmidon will set it enough apart.

Quick block-out with my noob 3d skills:
http://burhtun.com/sketches/blockout.jpg
Myrmidon:
http://www.eve-wiki.net/images/thumb/4/40/Myrmidon.jpg/256px-Myrmidon.jpg

Man... the Myrmidon would look so much more intimidating if it didn't have the airplane style top part...

I'm starting to think CCP should use more than just the winning entry. There are enough good submissions linked in this thread that I'm having trouble choosing just one that I'd like to see in EVE.

I agree - there are some excellent submissions; would be a shame to see them go to waste.

For anyone whom has submitted a Starship for the competition and is wondering why their picture view count isn't moving compared with the 'views today' amount .. its broken. I emailed DA about it and they have acknowleged an issue (though say there are other bugs more higher priority to fix) so not sure if it will be fixed for this competition. Anyway thought you'd like to know :)

I'm wondering what this freebie prize is from CCP for all entrants? Heres my Starship:

I should add that not only is the viewer count buggy ... but I've just noticed that the viewer count is going down (at least on my ship submission) - anyone else notice this too on others? I think I'll start watching other peoples submissions to see wtf is going on Confused

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they would all be disqualified due to improper views. Typically in concept art created for 3d modelers to use as a blueprint, the viewpoints need to be straight-on flat views. Directly underneath, directly above, not from a slight angle.

In your first image for example, it looks like your left view is being viewed from a slight angle. And the underside view is definitely from an angle. You can only have one "beauty shot" from an angle in your submission. The sides, front, back, top, bottom all need to be flat. And usually you want them to line up like this:

Well my "easy" final is in;

Freyja T3 BC

Going to make another final with a bit of gif animation since that's about the only "fancy" thing i know. Not really that good in photoshop and backgrounds and stars and rainbows etc....Razz

All was drawn free hand 1st, scanned in and re-lined with PS. After that it was touch up here and there and presto!

Well you can probably accept this as truth, since most 3d software tutorials come with or imply you should download a blueprint picture and fold it like a box to model accordingly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqBFjk3T7xw&feature=related
It's easymode on modeling instead of doing it all by eye/mind itself.

So many amazing entries. Many of which look better than some current ship models. Kind of a crying shame that they are only going to use one of them.

They should use some of the other entries (with the caveat that their in-house artists can make some changes) and award the other great entries with PLEX, or some other prize from the Eve Store.

Well, with the end coming near i'd say the judges have a tough but not massive task on their hands.
Out of all the submissions there are actually a bunch of talented entrants who made a very beautiful and stylish designs. Of those bunch however, more than half will be declared mis-trial due to the simple fact that their submissions arn't eve design or don't follow one or more of the rules (my personal guess and slight hope). Shame really since those entrants could have made such beautiful ships if they did some research and followed eve lore and followed the rules to the letter. Generally speaking most are like a deviation of Anime rather than actual eve designs.
Out of all the submissions i'd be surprised if there would be more than 50-75 that have a chance of making it onto the judgement table...i just hope the judges for the final 15 know how to pick a fitting and lore/design correct entries..

@ poster above me; Very nice designs! Those are some of the chance grabbers as they look, feel and breathe EvE Online! Although i must say truthfully that the Aura feels a bit Caldari influenced.
