Can I put the Launcher in the main EVE Folder, or do I still have to follow the Manual Installation Instructions? Because I don't want to have to copy all of the EVE Files and thus take up even more space on the drive. I think it would just be easier to be able to access the Singularity and Multiplicity Servers from the main client like it was back before Trininty.

In theory, yes. However this will modify your TQ client, and so you'll download some data to get it working on Singularity, and then have to download more, when you try to go back to TQ (using the Repair Tool), and then re-download it when connecting to Sisi again, and so on and so forth.

I commented on this in another of your threads, asking how you would handle this distribution of test code and assets and you didn't respond; there's no easy way to do as was once done, and have one client that connects to both servers since they are running vastly different code bases with in development code and assets.

1.24, multithreaded downloading?

Very nice tool, it would look real awesome if you had a design without the window border, maybe a few ships poking out here and there. Might just make it a tiny bit more eye pleasing?.. i dunno.. heres one i did though just for lolz if u wanna check it out.

There is simply too much Awesomeness going on in that picture and I can not allow that, sorry.
But seriously, the goal of the sisi launcher is to be functional, not pretty.

Well maybe an updated link on the first page to the newer installer would be a good idea.

I just clicked the link and it then told me that there was a newer version available, and would I like to download that? so I clicked yes only to get an error message stating that I can only use one instance of the launcher at a time???

just been running this and had several active windows open, the Launcher had a tendancy to efectivly pop-under the active Firefox window, which puzzeled me somewhat. I had to use the task bar to make it active and bring it in front of other windows.
Client patcher tool looks fairly good keeps telling me i am missing a bunch of blocks though and has gone off to find them which is nice. So far impressed, not very easy on the eye though but tbh, sweetness and light all the same. Function over form i say!

Tried using this last night just before the mass test, following was seen.
Initial session started and launched Singularity, which was nice. I then DC'ed after alt-tabbing to run eve-radio in the background. effectivly i lost the Eve Singularity window from my system. I then used task manager to kill the ah Sisi launcher i think, may have been Singularity. however every time i then tried to use the Singularity launcher after that no windows were rendered.
I did a log off and on
Reboot
manually checked services to confirm they were running
All i found was thatthe launcher would shut itself down. I ended up manually launching the logging tool and singularity manually in order to take part with the test.

the tool is good,

* does the manual work of making a sisi install for you - nice
* takes care of updating - very nice
* removes the need to remember/write down those always changing command line switches - very nice

* doesn't bother to follow the most basic windows UI standards, and looks butt ugly - alright, no problem...

* made me scroll to my EVE Tranquility folder several times. - mind putting it in a variable when I give it to you the first time?

* anytime you type one letter into the editable textbox, it pops up the folder browsing window! So, type one letter into the path, close popup, type another letter, close popup, type another letter, close popup (its a modal popup window too :P) - could use a fix:

Either make the path not editable, or quit popping up a box anytime the user types.

I prefer you leave the typing in, I can type my path faster than I can browse to it. So add a button called "browse to folder" instead of an auto-popup that activates on any typing there.

It did updating very well, and I could only find two faults really.

1) Path to eve folder doesn't seem to save.
2) Dialogue to select eve folder seems to not force itself to the top when it's launched? Meaning I have to minimize everything to find it all the way in the back. Either make it force itself to the top, or, more prefferably, make it so that it appears in the taskbar.

i installed eve via steam, i copied the data over to the ccp folder,

and the tool was looking for a singulity folder so renamed the eve folder to match ran the patcher it downloaded a patch or something took 3 minutes
ran 3 more time after so it could verify the chek sums.

I told it to run eve but its not picking up server, it says singulity but won't let me login network status is unknown? is the tool broken?

or do i need to do something else now

Server Unknown is just like TQ, probably DT and not an issue your end.

Using 1.24, I can't get the launcher to recognize any of my alternate eve installs to use to run the test server. I'm currently redownloading the client since I can't really see a way to get the launcher to recognize the existance of client installs already present. Not about to try this on my TQ install though. Alternate installs are close mirrors to the current TQ install.

Help please?

Edit/Update - Apparently the launcher was freaking out because I don't keep my eve install in the default install directory. This should be looked at since Steam doesn't store the install there either.

Really don't like this method. I realize that its supposed to save ccp effort by no longer writing incremental patches (in all fairness you've probably put as many resources into this as you would have into a year of patches), but this makes the process so convoluted it isn't worth it considering how often SISI changes builds.

I mean come on, 5mins to hash check, then another 5-10mins to check files, THEN you get to download your patch and apply it. 15 minutes of checks, just to tell you that YES, I AM RUNNING THE TQ CLIENT BECAUSE I RECOPIED IT.

Leave the patches for manual download, there was nothing wrong with the old system, all you're doing is making SISI idiot proof, which of course means more idiots, more "wahwah ban request" threads, and more work for yourselves. Remember what the test server feedback forum was like 2 years ago? There was actually feedback and bug reports, instead of 3 pages of "wahhh he shot my internet capsule on a server that bears no consequences in the real game, this will surely stop me testing the game breaking bug enjoying a game with no consequence".

I was under the impression that you only need to repeatedly choose the TQ folder if SiSi and TQ are running the same version, but this is no longer the case and I'm still getting prompted.

Is this expected behaviour?

same error as above poster

I also wonder why sisi launcher thinks that those two folders should be in C:\program files\ccp
Cache folder: 'C:\\PROGRA~3\\CCP\\EVE\\repair_download_cache'
downloadFolder = 'C:\\PROGRA~3\\CCP\\EVE\\repair_download_cache'

I have nothing related to eve in program files (CCP directory doesnt even exist in "program files" nor "program files (x86)"
So I wonder from which hat it is being pulled...

2-3 days ago it worked fine though

A few days ago I was having the MemoryError failure. Try going to your Sisi folder and running the repair.exe tool, then once it finishes immediately run the launcher and hit fix rather than just play (i.e. don't try manually launch Sisi before using the launcher again, I fear it wouldn't help/could mess with your TQ stuff), it worked for me. It might have taken a few goes at fixing, or that might have been before I tried the repair tool as it suggests. Then you too can enjoy 6- being stuck for everyone.

After getting tired of sisi launcher I installed it manually because i'm just one of those who likes to press a single button to be able to play a game. Everytime I restart my computer, I would have to do what you said and press the repair.exe, I realized it was not transferring but checking all those files with the sisi launcher as well. Is there a way or something I'm doing wrong to avoid that. Because everytime I will restart my computer and want to play on SiSi either with the manual install or the SiSi launcher I will have to check exactly 6.44 Gb of stuff which is pretty annoying.

Maybe you have a permissions issue or something about your filesystem making it think something has/hasn't been modified when it should(n't)? I just hit Play and almost all of the time the launcher fired up the client to just log in, otherwise I think it always finds an update to apply, it doesn't seem to do the big check needlessly.

Something's broken with the rolling checksums or something:

CBA to keep rerunning it. I thought there was progress but actually the 2nd and 4th ends of the traces seem the same but for the time, which could be due to some other IO.

Given a couple of goes it seems to be past the blockage now...
Actually I cancelled it once it started downloading 700MB, tried the launcher again, same error as 2nd and 4th, tried repair.exe again, similar error, KeyError: '76'.

So the SisiLauncher inconsistantly fails at the same point, and the repair.exe inconsistantly fails at different points, because when I ran it again and it started the ~700MB download again, this still happened:

But still launches a client which bombs with Verification Failure popup again (it did this for one or more of the tests before, forgot to mention), stating crc: and expecting: for various files. It probably shouldn't if the fixing errored.
