It looks nice, and it works.

Unfortunately, on my machine it did not copy the original client, but instead found the TQ client I was using and simply patched it, which means I will be unable to play on TQ until I re-download the entire client. I was under the impression that this exact scenario was what this launcher was trying to avoid?

ok, this is very annoying. Question
when i had it all installed and the path was correct i pressed "fix singularity client" and waited, ive come back to it to find that when i try to play on singularity it does the same updating process again! is this meant to happen? to add to this, it wont even download! it just says its failed with a runtime of 0h00m0s! can someone please tell me what im doing wrong?

(manually installing it doesnt seem to work either)

its all the singularity action with none of the annoying hastle.

completely stable no major issues

singularity actually updates properly \0/

if singularity fails to update the launcher can copy your current eve install rather than downloading a full singularity client \0/

two thumbs up this is the best thing to come out of ccp in a long time

((note for those who accidently patched tranquility or launched the tranquility client by accident))

tranquility by default installs to C:\program files\ccp\eve

if you set this as the path in the launcher it will patch / launch the tranquility client.

you want to set the path in the sisi launcher to C:\program files\ccp\singularity. this will force it to copy your eve install and than patch the copy.

this is what my download of the launcher defaulted to so the only thing i can think you did was enter the eve path assuming that the launcher was looking for the current install rather than a new directory to make the singularity launcher. but please check your path names and launcher settings before randomly clicking launch.

Can you paste the beginning of your log, please? I'm curious in why it's getting 'non numeric port' as an exception. What can you tell me about your network and firewall configuration?

I have never had a problem using the sisi launcher til today some thing that was done broke it for me cant eve get bast the incursion load screen.

Updated another computer which had a older version of sisi on it and it worked again.

A delete of the folder and a down load from sisilauncher only started a 3.65 gigbit down load however. win7 64 bit.

SisiLauncher apparently results in a broken client, the normal (auto-)patch seems to be working.
Update: Please use the normal patches for the moment, till this is fixed. The SisiLauncher removes files from the client, which it should not remove.

When the SiSi Beta patcher failed.

I tried to patch using the Patch site and got (Auto patch didn't work either)

Server 97.237.32.22
incompatible version
NOW What????
FYI running windows 7 home version (32 bit)

Getting tired of trying to keep up with this. There is a finite amount of time available to play musical clients.

Click the fix button, it should now resolve what was broken, where the launch button currently gives you no real window to use. As per the other thread, if it doesn't you're unlucky in your nearest CDN cache, wait 'til tomorrow.

Works fine for me, but download speed for test server patches is awful.
More detail here.
Edit:
And requires admin rights to work for some reason (Windows XP SP3 32-bit, user demoted to prevent malware and viruses infection, games etc installed to another NTFS partition with full access for user).

When, for instance, one downloads the SiSi launcher multiple times (hey, I forgot where those darn downloaded files go), Firefox renames them into "Sisilauncher(3).exe"

Thinking one was as good as the other, I copied that one to a more permanent location, tried launching it, it downloaded an update (to itself) and proceeded to, apparently, launch its old self instead of overwriting itself with the new version downloaded and launching that one. Thereby perpetuating faulty messages.

TL;DR: overwrite the name of the RUNNING executable with the update, not what you think it should be, or create a new sisilauncher.exe if there's none, or display a message.

So.. I ran my SISI executable today, and got the download req. notification; and continued to download/patch, my SISI installation, so I could get on Singularity. Problem is, when it finishes patching; I close it up with the launch ticked off. It lauches, and tells me Incompatible (Release).

okay.. so.. no problem there; lets just see if I can tweak it; with the SISI launcher tool, I originally used to install it...

Presto! It works.. okay, on to Singularity.

Here's the trouble! I go back to my desktop, and launch TQ; and here's what it tells me: Incompatible (Release)
Shocked

It's because the release candidate that's on Sisi is exactly that: a release candidate. Because it's a candidate for release, it's default connection target is Tranquility rather than Singularity. The Sisi Launcher makes accommodations for this, and forces all clients to connect to Singularity.

The speed isn't something we can do anything about. The speed at which anyone (fast or slow) can download at is determined by our content delivery partner, Level3, and the state of the end users own internet connection; the patches, and other associated data don't sit on a server we own, manage or maintain.

Could you elaborate on what behaviour you're encountering when running into problems. Perhaps it's something we can fix.

The only information I can give you is what's listed in the exception; the attempt to connect timed out. Perhaps you need to allow it through a firewall?
