I am part of a very small wormhole corp. With 4-7 Members there are enough divisions in our corporate hangar for everyone to have their own division, making things secure. Its somewhat of a non-issue tho, as we all know and trust each other.

We are considering adding new members, who we dont know. How do larger WH corps provide storage to members while minimizing risk of theft.

Yes we check people out, but everyone has alts.

Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Giant secure containers is the only way...Achor and put a password on each. Another way is to deny access to the pos hangar...but that would prevent him from using any facility within it....There are no other options..

Can't ever eliminate, only minimize risk.

With up to 7 people each can have his own division. Up to 14 you can anchor a second corp hanger and assign single divisions to 2 people. Those 2 people may even be friends and more trusting of one another if you like. Then 3 hangers for 21, maybe more if you can keep track. Personally I like keeping division 1 public while assigning 6 per corp hanger.

Also start changing the access roles on the different corp hangers from the POS management window, access tab. Three levels of access on anchored structures:

corp access (general all access)
fuel technician (2nd tier access, plus general corp access)
config starbase equipment (highest access, for everything)

This way you can give directors and most trusted circle the highest access (config), then those members that been around for while and you trust Fuel Tech, and everyone else general corp access. It's a lot of shuffling around and keeping track but much better than secure cans. You can also do similar structure with ship bays (watch your grid).

Under this setup you can scale a single pos to maintain nice balance of access/security for quite a few people, but at some point if you keep growing you'll eventually need to break into other poses. Here you can set each POS so it does NOT have general corp access. You need a password to get in.

Thanks for the replies. This confirms our thoughts. There's a cheap way (GSCs) and a good way (second PoS) to do it =]

aren't you forgetting about ships. The more people you have, the more ships, sometimes more than 1 per person. Meaning they will be docked in 1 location where all members have access. Thats the main risk of WH.

You can ofc secure 1 ship hanger but that means only people with enough access can use it, the sort of access that allows them to un-anchor stuff.

I really don;t know how the 200man wh corps do it. The only way is possible have more than 1 wh per a group of people.

Simple have the minium amount of ships in a wh. Things like scanning ships and haulers should only have a couple. anyone can use. Also make sure to have a 2nd ship hanger locked for directors only.

The main way we tend to do it is to just make such insane amounts of isk that security isn't really an issue.

That is, if you're making enough isk per week to replace all your in-system assets (POS included) then the cost/benefit of theft just doesn't pen out.

A major issue with people moving into WH space is having to surrender the personal space that they have become so accustomed to in most other areas of Eve. With everyone based in the Corp POS, it is basically communal living.

Depending on the class of WH you are living in and the amount of ISK you are making, it is perfectly viable for members to set up their own small or medium POS for either personal use or to share with a close friend or other trusted member. The cost of a small tower per month is minimal and depending on the variety of planets available within your system you can cut down on the volume of fuel you need to import and the ISK spent, by taking up Planetary Interaction.

These towers don't need to be heavily defended as assets can simply be moved back to the Corp POS in the event of an attack. Set up properly, the only people able to access your personal POS will be players with the password and the CEO. Gives that added bit of security by not having all the assets in the WH at the one place.

Worked for us so far :)
