It's not that EvE is dying, it's that this game has SEVERE bugs and lag issues which make it far from the best of anything (except maybe the best black screen to stare at). |

EVE winning the award has nothing to do with people being wrong or right. It only means that the rest sucked harder  Serious tho, it's probably deserved ... EVEn with the bugs and all it's issues, it's still the most content you will find in any game to date. EVE has only one type of game to fear: another sandbox PVP game. There are none worth mentioning. It DOES show us something about the other ones nominated: that their supposed playerbase is not as large or loyal as the news makes it out to be. |

Considering eve was up against a bunch of multiplayer FPS's and aoc, which is a terrible game, there really isn't much to celebrate.
This just means ccp have less of a reason to do their job now. |

There is a big hole in the quality of all European games...
If you can win an Award cause you set-up good looking planets and Lag in a game the Award criteria should be reviewed...or may be transformed to 'Best Graphics Only Award'.

i feel bad quoting ******s. what lag? seriously. t3= no lag, anywhere. ive jumped into 300 ship concord spawns, flown around in jita with all my modules activated, went to 0.0 systems and have expereinced NO LAG. USER ERROR. as for bugs, what bugs? i see none. ****ing sick and tired of you troll as *****es for real. u got crappy internet? sucks for you. crappy computer? sucks for you. stfu and go play tetris. |

Read my edited post above. They won because little to none else even submitted for the award. It's quite easy to win, when your product is the only one availabe for voting, or has to compete with 1-2 others. To worsen the situation, they split the votes in a zillion tiny categories, therefore the few competing titles per genre have been further fragmented to "solo" candidate per their niche. |

There's something that the general public doesn't know about these so-called "industry awards", and it isn't confined to just this industry, it is a rampant, raging problem of misdirection, collusion and outright bribery.
These 'awards' are bought and paid for.
Just like the 'awards' handed out by industry-specific trade rags of every kind.
Fanbois don't want to hear it or believe it, manufacturers and their media goats will never admit it, but anyone who has ever worked for certain specific departments in any of the many and varied industries has seen it ( and DONE it ) first hand.
So, congratulations, I suppose, CCP, for having paid the most for the number one spot this year.
It is just another form of advertising, folks. Ad dollars paid for public exposure and a good write-up.

I don't know if this is good or bad.... I'm gonna be a pessimist here an say that this is probably the worst outcome we could have gotten. Or maybe it was just the only possible outcome when there are enough categories to give every single game one.  |

In other words, you've never actually been in a laggy environment. Your (slow) network speed has nothing to do with the lag people care about in EVE, since it is either server side or client side — almost never in between (where your slow pipe would help). Quote:
