I'm going to be a bit negative here.

So far, the storyline missions I have received have led me 14+ jumps away from the agents I was doing missions for and were exactly the same: "Kill mercenary forces blah blah ...".

I understand that CCP wants to have some special missions which result in faction gains, but this is just not the way. These storyline missions contain neither story nor are they especially important when you have to spend 30+ minutes jumping to a system, wtfpwning some poor Mercenaries and then spending 30+ more minutes returning to your regular agents.

Solution to this? Remove storyline missions till they actually introduce special missions that contain a story and just add a main faction % bonus to each mission you complete for your regular agents.

Just got my first storyline mission and the offer was prematurely withdraw before I got the message. Rolling Eyes

Fortunately I only had to remove myself 12 jumps from regular agent. Smile

how about this

corp mates agent sends him about 15 jumps away and 11 jumps into it is a heavily and regularly gate blocked choke point controled area and still need to get thru that and 4 jumps just in past gateblock to complete mission and come back on through.

He's got 3 different pending important missions and all 3 send him thru that certain death of a system no matter when he does the mission.

and he's doing missions in empire, in .6, 11 jumps away from 0.0.

ya he is really pleased about that....... thus why he has 3 impotants piled up

I read this earlier and thought 'you poor sods'. Now here's me, running level 2 missions and I get an important mission.
For a whopping 59,000 credits, I'm asked to go to 0.3 space 19 jumps from my stomping grounds near Amarr and kill some Khanids. No LPs, only a 47,000 bonus if I finish in 45 minutes.
Hello? CCP? Newb doing level 2 missions sent to 0.3 space? Are you nuts? You can poke this one where the sun don't shine...

Whilst they're currently poorly implemented, lacking content and with low bonuses (should be implants IMO 'cos they crop up as rarely as old implant missions) they are the only way to increase your faction standing.

For that reason alone they need to stay in, though it would be nice if they were worked on fairly sharpish.

I've asked this before in another thread, but just to bring it up again - Why can't we have storyline missions IN ADDITION to the old-style important missions from our regular agents?

The storyline missions could reward pilots with better items/ cash/ corp faction than the regular important missions of the same level to compensate for the distance/ difficulty factors, but would still leave us the regular important missions for decent corp faction/ implants/ sheer fun (admit it - it's usually a bit of a rush to see the text "IMPORTANT" in your mission log, even if it is just a glorified pizza delivery).

Given no-one seems happy with missions post Shiva so far as I can tell it seems CCP has dropped the ball on this one. Fair enough, no-ones perfect - But please, please give us our old important agent missions back (even after you fix the storyline missions).

Yours living in hope,

Used to kill those mercenary in no time with my moa.... i clicked yes...

!then leave the station and... WHHHHHHAAAAAAAT 6 jump in 0.0 space for a mission lvl 2? well my autopilot wasn't well configured try another road mate.... 4 jump in 0.0 in Fountain guess what i wait 24h and we talk about it...

SO 24h after i recieved a mission failed... first impression 3,7% standing in faction and corporation loses... ok gonna have to wait 2 days to get it back but lemme check... going from 1.26 to 0.99 in corporation Shocked is that what they call 3,78% ???
Dude i have like for 3 week to get it back ... my faction gone from 2.90 to 2.50 and loosed my agent Confused

Serioously i understand loosing faction i assume lossing corp but dont make me loose 0.25 when an important mission allow me to win 0.03 maximum

STORYLINE, isnt that supposed to mean it carrys on?

I think the storyline missions suck, miles away from where ur based, rubbish rewards and no real gain apart from a waste of time.

AND if u dont do it u get a sec hit against that corp/faction. pointless ffs.Evil or Very Mad

Why not enjoy a change in daily mission routine ... 14+ jumps, is not that much, and you get around. Oh yes, you lose money meanwhile, but ... is it really the end of the world? And ... it has been said already, that storyline missions will get more lovin' soon.

I disagree and say: Keep storyline agents, complete them and do not mix them from all and every corporations/factions. I am glad the implant rush has ended. Twisted Evil

Almost all of the story line missions I have seem are a waste of time. Why go to dangrous 15 jumps away and in .3 below space for 50-60k? I am still fairly new and probably would not be willing to take that risk for 2mil-3mil isk let alone 50k!. I have only received 1 worth while storytime mission. It was a lvl 1 mission that involved going about 9 jumps for a +1 implant.

I they should keep level 1-3 story time missions in relatively safe space and have them offer implants or valuable equipment to make them worth while.

My 2 cents

Am i the only one or didn't the most of you see that the storyline agents give their standing gain not to the corp you're working for?

I mean - what's the sense (despite the lousy content and the long travelling route) of that missions if the staning gain is for a company i'm not interested in?

The only answer of a GM was that that is by design...

I don't give a damn on that missions.Evil or Very Mad

I wish my agent would send me to a storyline agent in the corp i usually work for.

To be honest, if the Devs cant get the Storyline Missions implemented as they intended (and from what i have seen so far, these missions arent implemented as Papa Smurf originally described them), then they should can the whole idea and just go back to the old system.

Shure, 'storyline' missions which are harder/have a better reward/ are more in depth / are more interesting might be nice, but untill they actually work, why include them at all?

What i really want to see, and which does not appear to be forthcoming, is something by one of the Devs responcible (post here, dev blog, whatever) explaining what the situation currently is, what they want to happen, what they are going to do about these missions and when we can expect for everything to be sweetness and light with agents. I think that CCP owes us that much, at least, even if the fix is going to be a long time in coming.

I have a story line mission on offer right now: 51k, 12 jumps, 0.4 space. Sorry, that's just not worth it...the jumps alone make it not worth it.

storyline agent dont give good rewards for one simple reason.... LOW STANDING! We can not possibly expect agent with 4-5 standing to give us implants... I say make agents that we work for give us important missions, and problem will be soled for the most part.

yep I am getting sent 14 jumps to a level 03 to kill the mercs, then have to go 4 more jumps to a level 1 dead end to complete the mission, now this wouldnt be so bad If I hadn't checked out the map to see 24 ships with 22 pod kills on the way into where I got to go. I spent to much on implants and ships to get ganked on a stupid 300k tops mission for an agent I have never heard of and a corp I never heard of either. Come on ccp at least put in an option for me to tell that agent to go **** himself and go away I'm busy.

I am also a bit annoyed by these missions....

First... I get missions offered: Several jumps (Most through 0.0 sectors, which normally I do not mind).. but for these rewards ?!

Second: The rewards are beyond crap.... I get more isk from doing normal missions...
Plus as stated above, I get an increased standing with some odd corp... Why ?!

Third: I cannot delete or say no to these offers...
Currently I have five missions that have been offered to me... and I could not be bothered doing one single on of them.... I'd rather buy a shuttle for 100mill....

All I want is a lonely DELETE button.....

So: Signed !

What goes beyond annoying with these missions is that, if you do choose to sacrafice time and effort for a crappy mission with cruddy rewards... and you get to where the agent tells you to go and the agent just tells you to bugger off, they're busy.

YOU don't have an option to say that (and if you let it laps you take a bloody INSANE standings hit, 100x worse than the gain for /doing/ the mission), but sure as heck the agent can say it to you.

Petition them whenever they crop up so that you don't take the standings smackdown. CCP won't credit you for running 12x jumps in one direction (sometimes through or into 'non carebare friendly' space in a ship not kitted for PvP) only to have the agent tell you to slag off. Evil or Very Madugh

Icarus, that happened to me today too. 2 days after mission was offered I thought fine, want to get it off my log, i'll do the bloody 12 jumps to go kill 3 frigates, and get some faction standing that I dont really need at the moment. I get there, agent tells me to bugger off. Petitioned it, GM says the mission offer cant be in my journal cause his systems say it isn't, so must be a display problem. Even though I relogged several times in the 2 days since getting the offer and the mission did keep appearing in my journal.

Furthermore the GM says that the storyline stuff is super bugged and is expiring before it should (devs looking into it etc), his advise was to ACCEPT these crummy missions as soon as they are offered or else you're in trouble...you end up wasting time for nothing (as compared to next to nothing). The only "good" news was that if the mission would persist in my journal till the expiration date a week from now, I would'nt get any standings LOSS from it since its a storyline mission....

2 hours later the mission offer finally and mysteriously did suddenly disappear out of my journal.

Ive had two Story missions in the last two days, same one. Mercenary Assassination

And both times, the Agent said to me "Go away im busy" when i had completed the mission.

But i still got my faction reward, my piddly 51k ISK and my shield array bonus.

You people just have lousy luck. On my first storyline mission I bagged a modulated tachyon and some nice reward money. As for level 4 missions and the state of the mission system in general, I couldn't be happier with it. Gives me something fun to do between offensives.

Vothic: the "Go away I am busy" from the agent is normal, AFTER you completed the mission. In my case the agent said that when I showed up in his station to start the mission (to change it in journal from a 7 day offer to a 24-hour mission, in terms of expiration time).

Indeed, same happened to me. The storyline missions have been programmed by someone who should have been sacked. On Christmas eve.
