Pay a merc corp 200m to protect you and grief them. Let them know you got the isk but won't pay a ransom.

I'm sorry to hear your Corporation is under a declaration of war...

Some additional advice not posted so far in the replies...be careful of who you speak to, especially those who want to join your corporation to "help you fight those guys for you". Unless the person is a die-hard PvPer and veteran user, no one in their right mind would join a corporation in war. It's usually an attempt by your opponents to strike at you from the inside.

Also, you may want to disable the applications option in your corporation control panel until the war is over. Even when it is over, be sure to screen your applicatants in case they plan to strike at your corporation through espionnage.

Griefer wardecs your corp.

You sit in your station, you spin around.

You spend a few evenings with your corps mates writing the ceo of the company eve mail.

Hundreds of eve mails.

He gets to manage all that mail. You don't go yelling at him, you don't insult him, you just keep sending him e-mail. Send recipes or something.

Spend some time doing that. Send him 1000 messages per day. See how much he likes that. You can create as many characters to send him mail as you want. You create a mail character that sends mail [or 50 mail characters]. He gets to plow through all that mail.

He's going to raise his ESRP charge [or whatever the bleep the name is], but he's not going to want to do that because his friends also have to pay the charge.

Share the annoyance. The power of the word is unmatched.

Just make another corp and strip everything and move over to it. Its what I would do if wardeced. Shoot I would also leave a placeholder in the old corp just to annoy them and see how long they would keep paying the wardec tax :)

Sorry you took my decision not to take your generous gift the wrong way. As mentioned in part in my Email, we will win our WARDEC not through combat but by passive resistance and forcing our opponent to expend resources while we continue with business as usual. I even thanked you for the offer even though I did not accept it.

I should also point out I did not ask you for anything, you offered it. Calling me and my corporation names only makes you appear petty in front of your fellow players. Take the high road on this, and accept my refusal for what it is, and that is a polite "no-thank-you"

Delicious, delicious pirate tears.

In threads where carebears cry, dozens post "sandbux, Lrn2ply". Then the carebears do something creative using the fact it's a sandbox game, and a torrent of name calling and frustrated !%#!-talking commences.

And that's pretty much every thread that's not "I just ganked X and got Y."

Should ... not .... tell ... you ..... but will anyway Laughing

There is one weapon you can employ; boredome. Make sure you do not provide them targets. Wardecs cost ISK, no isk/kills gained during the war means no reason to prolongue.

Forget mercs at this point in time. Tho a lot of mercs wont agree I guess Laughing
Just sit it out, go 30 jumps the other way, mission a bit, play the market, spin your ship. It will pass that way.

On the other hand; provide them with juicy targets and emo rage in local, and you'll have a long war ahead of you.

OR!

Undock in cheap frigates/cruisers and have some fun. Remember this IS a game and you ARE supposed to play it. Maybe you could learn a thing or two and start loving PvP. I was in a one year war against a carebear corp with a lot of isk to throw around and not only did I have the most fun of my life (and make my first billion) but they had a lot of fun too and we were both kinda sad when they had to move due to alliance stuff.

What ever you do; don't pay the ransom! Ever!

It's kind of sad that griefers can do what ever they want and most miners can't defend themselves. This is EVE, CCP made it this way. It's our choice what to do.

Couple of new ideas:
1) Play Starcraft 2 during the war
2) Open Wow-account and play wow
3) After two weeks you don't want to come back.

Or

Pay the subscription and stay docked for few weeks. It's fun, CCP says it is!!

1. Have everyone log in, and go afk all day. Preferably in a cloaked ship.

2. Find something else to do that isn't Eve. There's a million games out there for free on the internet.

A few tips:

1. Making a small corp with just a few (new) players in it isn't a very good idea to start with. There's really lots and lots of corps preying on these corps as they're weak, have soft targets and can't do a lot to defend themselves.

2. Join an alliance. Your opponents not only have to wardec the whole alliance but they also have to pay 50 million a week to keep the war going instead of 2 million a week.

3. If you still want to mine/make money, choose a system with just 1 entrance and set a guard to warn you when the enemy jumps in. Or mine together and at least let 1 person check local all the time.

4. I like the e-mail spam suggestion! Cool

5. Hire mercenaries to either protect you or hunt your enemy down. This can get expensive though.

6. The suggestion of leaving the corp and joining a new one is completely legal, there was a thread about it some weeks ago - CCP allows it as it is within the rules. Make and alt CEO for the time being and keep jumping corps whenever you get a new wardec.

7. Leave the corp altogether and go back to a NPC corp. You can create a (free) chat channel for your friends to keep contact and do things together, no-one can wardec you when in a NPC corp. Disadvantage is that you can't setup a POS, hire a corp office or benefit from corp standings - for instance for jump clones.

Only undock in rookie ships.

Not only do you get an infinite supply of them, but most decent killboards don't show rookie ship kills. If you fight them in a swarm of velators and rack up thousands of lossmails, it costs you nothing and makes them look like they have been trying to pad their battleclinic ranking by farming free kills off an alt corp :)

If there are only a few of you just dissolve the corp and go back to the NPC corps. This will end the wardec and then reform the Corp.

Job done.

If they wardec you again just stay in the NPC corp for a while but still do your stuff together and they cannot touch you.

give it a week and they will be bored as hell

lastly griefers hate it when you dont pay as they then have to spend hours gate camping you and it all gets very boring for them.

Extra lastly. Dont talk to them as most of the time they are looking for clues in how are you bearing up and do not believe a word of there lies. I had one say to me that they normally camp for about a month before the target pays up, these are lies as no one wants to spend 5 hours a day for 30 days just staring at a station with nothing happening.

We've already tried the boredom techniques, but the result was that everyone who's active quit. Even our ceo is never online anymore.

i think we have the 200 mil or could have raised it before so many people quit, but then we'd just get Griefed more.

There are lots of things you can do,

1. Get jump clones and put them at the other end of the universe.
WT turn up, Dock, Jump, start missioning/mining again
Rinse and repeat.

2. find a system with high sec cut off by low sec, then mine in the high sec, a lot of high sec griefers will not come into the lowsec corridor to get to you.

x. Work out your own solution, this is the game, out think the wartargets.

It's going to cost them isk to keep that war going so there are several things you can do:

1. Stay docked and ignore them. (not very fun)

2. Fight (not recommended, war in high sec is a lot of nonsense)

3. Move to another system temporarily / permanently. I established clones in different parts of the universe that can each make money in that area. So if war is declared just clone jump to that other area and start working there.

4. Create a new corp, move everyone into that corp and keep an alt in old corp until war is ended.

Trying to fight a high sec war is pointless. Especially against griefers, they'll just station camp all day and use tricks to make any sort of organized fight useless. In my opinion there should be a structure in space you have to defend if you want to declare war, the people who are on the receiving end should have a target they can go after if the offensive side wants to station camp.

I was in a corp that went to war with a griefer corp. 4 players in it, 2 were the same guy, and a third would show up from time to time. It was pointless for us to try and attack. We'd have a dozen guys, fleets formed up and waiting and there was nothing to fight. If you're going to declare war I think the game needs to expose something of yours that you need to defend. It's not worth even trying to fight. It's a complete waste of time.
