Eve runs fine on my laptop using ubuntu 10, but i am behind a firewall.

I hoped to be able to tunnel through to my desktop pc at home.

Edit: i have set up a crude openssh server on my home computer, but i seem to be unable to connect from my laptop.. This is harder than i first thought.

Guess i will just have to ask to get the ports opened by the admin...

Hello,

assuming you have some kind of DSL router at home you need to configure that router so that it forwards connections from the internet to the ssh port (22 usually) to that port on your computer.
You may need to give your home pc a static ip adress for it to work.

Just a guess, since you said you are not able to connect.
Hope this helps.

That was indeed what was missing, got the same solution elsewhere too.

Thanks :)
