I found the review fair, lets be honest, eve isn't the game to pick up if you hate playing games with other people (as any of his multiplayer game reviews shows he is). Besides, he pretty much pans every game he reviews, so its not a surprise he did this one too.
From memory, I think he also slags EvE off in his Mass Effect 2 review (something about being bored rigid with the planet surveying feature, and saying if he wanted to be a space quantity surveyor he would play EvE). |

Nah, he burned GTA IV down later when he was brown nosing Saints Row 2, I picked that one up because he was so remarkably positive but I didn't like it at all (all kinds of issues with the pc version at least). |

Back when it was first posted, I found it to be surprisingly accurate and funny - especially for someone who didn't want to play with others.

Dude wimped out of Demon's Souls without evening finishing 1-2. I'm a girl, and don't really think of myself as being exceptionally good at gaming, and I've finished Demon's Souls through to NG++++ with all weapons, spells, and trophies collected...
But he *is* funny.
Yeah, Demon's Souls isn't all that hard per se, just very unforgiving of mistakes and carelessness. |

I like his reviews, they're comedy gold. I watch them mainly for comedic effect though, very rarely have I actually wanted an opinion.
His review of Eve is pretty accurate but it's obvious he didn't look into it more than the 14-day free trial's length. Eve is an enormously complex game that 14 days is barely going to scratch the top-most layer of finish off the top-most layer of paint.
But ignorant of what else Eve does have to offer, he pretty accurately described every player's first two weeks. |

Yahtzee's own words "Consider me a praiser by exception, and anything I don't mention is fine".
It's his job to nit-pick and rip games apart in the most comedic way possible. Even games he professes to enjoy (Batman: Arkham Asylum and Psyconaughts immediatly come to mind) he tears apart. Just the way the Aussie is. And I wouldn't have him any other way.
I hope he rips apart APB soon. |
