The reason I asked was because I thought your post to be terribly naive. If you have any idea of how the Chinese version of Eve is being played you wouldn't be too exited about this possibility happening. Their game lives off RMT, aka Farmers and Macroers, and RL RMT organisations paying a lot of real life money to buy ISK and alliances. They have an extremely strict economy where the workers farm for the bosses, who have so much ISK that they have fought wars by buying an entire alliances worth of ISK to defeat the selling Alliance. If you think nullsec politics are harsh right now, I don't think you would like what that would bring.
The chinese server was not under direct ccp control and also had no impact on the real tq server that is ccp's bread and butter so they really would have no interest in keeping serenity as cleanish as tq. As far as the quality of player well somehow I don't think they would be able to transfer territory rights or even the bulk of their assets. If it happend most likely they would get a bunch of isk and thier current character to use if they decided to join with the tq population. Either that or not be able to play at all or only with a brand new character. Also the rmt would hit a brick wall as the rules are different here than on serenity. What works there most likely won't work here or they would already be here using tunneling programs to get past the great firewall of china or simply setting up shop in a place with easier access. But anyhoo ccp wrangler already stated that the article was a misunderstanding and they have no plans to actually join the populations of both servers on any level.

Aslo, I'm not to sure you have an accurate picture of how much influence an organisation like CCP, with its few hundred employees have. If a giant like Google lost out to the Chinese government, I seriously doubt that CCP would be of much interest to anyone there.
But other smaller foreign companies get rights to operate in china all the time. So size does not matter, only what the company offers. Google offered information technology and more importantly possible access to foreign web content which is not something the chinese government wants any competition with. CCP simply offers an mmo with limited access to outside players which your average chinese citizen can already get with a few simple hacks to his computer. Add in a special client that limits some certain features like the igb and maybe certain chat channels and then you could easily let them in the main game. But again this isn't going to happen so back to the normal eve sucks content asap!

Its been a pretty fun thread so far even if I got to the party late. If people want to keep bumping it to add to the general lulz then I'm in it till the eventual lock.

And your retirement "funds" originate from Iceland, right? Laughing
No, I bank locally and my broker had warned to not go near iceland even with someone elses money. But the "funds" all came from the tech boom of the 80's and 90's. Good god the money to be had from companys that were totally clueless about how much computer stuff really cost when when quoted terms much like the government got rolled for $20k each toilet seats around the same time. But unlike the government profiteering scams it was like a legal racket tbh. A very profitable legal racket. Then everyone mostly wised up and the boom fizzled out by the time the 21st century rolled in. But the ones who rode the wave at the beggining made out extremely well.ugh

edit: oh and riddle me this batman. If I 'worked' for 'them' then why the hell would I be bumping this thread? Especially for off topic digressions such as this. Seems rather a daft thing for 'them' to hire someone to do yes? Wink

"Batman", eh? Laughing Seems my sec status has grown too positive. YARRRR!! For the sake of the argument then... If you were, by chance, a dev Alt, notorious CCP fanboi or someone hired to do some PR for CCP, ofc you would still laud their efforts/excuse their shortcomings/etc. as this thread would be bumped anyway. But you would be present to discredit/refute any legitimate criticism nevertheless. Putting the right spin on it, right, doctor? Razz

Doesn't really help your stance tho that you keep reiterating it just being a matter of 1000 vs. 1000 big fleet fights in nullsec. Those of us who do not live exclusively in nullsec know darn well that is by far not the only game-breaking/-impeding issue ATM. Didn't you mention FW before? Isn't that the still ongoing, highly-bugged venture CCP practically abandoned since at least a year ago? I remember having some fun there in the beginning, but these days... ugh

Lucky you if you never ever get real lag issues in low-sec, but alas, not all of us are as lucky as you. Now excuse me while I make sure my 2nd account stays unsubscribed FTTB...

You are absolutely right. It is just a game, but it's a game that we are spending time on, time that could be spent somewhere else. And for some, rl money. Some people choose to pay for the game rather than buy gtc's with isk. It's thier choice.

Even tho it's "just a game" real relationships and friends and drama and everything else that goes with it is real, in this "just a game".

That why you see this thread becoming what it is, it's about a passion for the game that we want fixed. It's not that hard to grasp. Sometimes your the windshield, sometimes your the bug, and I'm tired of being a ****ing bug.

No, I'm not voting for Eve.

I have to add one bit here.

Soccer, hockey, baseball etc...all just games. Do you go around telling the supporters to calm down and shout less? Because it is just a game?

Now, to take this into perspective. I am comparing with Eve, where the other 200 lag out and crash as soon as they hit the grid of the opponents 200-man fleet.

Would you consider it OK if the other team in soccer etc got disqualified (walk-over) as soon as they entered the field? I doubt it.

What's sad about this is it's indicative of ccp over the past two years.

Thread was pro ccp, thread was sticky.

Players disagreed with ccp, thread is un-stickied in the hope it will simply go away.

Ccp trying to forget the problem i.e. ignoring the customers (this is the problem) again makes them even angrier by not only reminding them why they're mad but making the problem worse. Introducing new players to the (relatively) recent problems associated with ccps rapid growth.

<<Just a thank you to all of y'all for allowing me to fly with you for the past few years, it's been a lot of fun and had a good few laughs.

Unfortunately, much like CCP, I feel my time and money would be best served on something else other than EVE.>>

guess that needs no further comment...Confused

My vote is no for this reason

1. This thread should be required reading for new players.
2. Removing/Hiding post, or spam as the DEV wish to call it.

Fix your F**king game ! There is so much potential in the Eve Universe yet you are squandering it all away with useless crap that none of your existing playerbase want, F**k getting greedy.

Bad timing!!!
Eve was never in such a bad shape like it is at the moment, instead of going forward you are making steps back.
Fix this, even if you need to remove the last "expansion" (i would call it more complete fail) do it.

I like EVE, but yeah CCP, you havent done your best work the last year or so. I wanna see Incarna as bad as anyone, but not at the expense of there being no one to talk to when it is released, due to them all quitting cause your game is taking turn after turn for the worse.

Unstickying the thread was kind of...lame, btw.

CCP, please have one of your people research a game called Star Wars Galaxies and look at the fate of that game.

I have been playing this game for a long time would hate to see it go down that route. Please look at how your going about your business and see how you can make these improvements.

At the moment im not mad enough to unsub me 2 accounts but if there is no improvements in the near future I will be done.

PLEASE FIX THIS.

Not much CCP can say. The problem stems from multiple years ago when CCP management suit had the arrogance to believe the game would be fine coasting (and then they broke it) for a bit (but it took longer than they thought) while they knocked out a couple of other games (which absorbed more manpower and resources than they expected) and now they're stretched thin but can't risk stopping development of the other titles they've invested so much in.

So as such all their talk about "Agile methodology" or "communication" is 100% smokescreen because it mean anything when they just don't have the resources to maintain Eve and keep it growing.
