When I first had a glimpse of Eve online I was only 16yro back in March of 06í, I wanted to be like Captain Picard, so I bought Eve online without reading reviews or about the gameís mechanics I just knew it was in space and the ships looked awesome. I went ahead and purchase Eve online, downloaded the client, started up then created my character selected class & bloodline. The game started loading while Iím excitedly placing my fingers on AWSD and holding my mouse ready to fly my ship and explore the entire universe in Eve, the game finished loading and I heard ďWelcome to Eve tutorial please click anywhere in space to move your shipĒ. The tutorial instructor started talking about Eve skill mechanic and I realize it was based on real life time I went on a nerd rage.

I calm down and decided to give Eve a try I already spent 20$ I may as well play it. I completed the tutorial, did tons of missions, skilled up fairly well and level my frigate skill to pilot a rifter & thrasher. I felt Eve starting to become semi-fun until I grabbed an item worth 1mill from another playerís container near a station and was blown up within mere seconds by another rifter. I thought about a plan to grab the item so I went out w/ a thrasher I recently bought and tried to steal then wrap away but the rifter already wrap scramble me then proceeding to blow me up.. I already lost a rifter and a thrasher, I was broke and mad about the game I decided to nerd rage on the forum by making an I quit thread

Iím about to be 21 next Monday, I started playing Eve a week ago after quitting 4yrs ago and Iím enjoying the game. I created a new account called Hulkage reference to Hulkageddon cause I started playing the same day the event began. The first week of eve seem much easier than the first time playing 4yrs ago, and my previous experience w/ coin-flipping has helped tremendously I now steal peopleís containers w/ warp core stabilizers equipped. I fully understand the advantages of eveís skill system and the patience involve in eve, so if you donít have any patience donít play EVE. I understand why Eve is played mainly by adults and consider an adult game by many gamers. If youíve an attention span of 5 minutes or donít have any patience at all donít EVE isnít for you because it wasnít for me 4 years ago when I was 16.

So which is it? Do you want to directly fly your ship or be like Captain Picard?

16.8 + 4.3 = 21.1

Just my guess, but people usually simplify by refering to their age in whole years.
Yeah, silly I know. Razz

It suddenly had, that (quite dreadful) film also happened to be directed by the guy manning said joystick. I call joystick spaceship shenanigans.

So originally you tried to steal something, got caught, lost your ship. You then rage quit claiming the game is boring and crap....

Interesting

Just think...had you actually had some form of patience and stuck it out for another 30 days, you probably would have found a fun aspect of the game, and you could have had 4 years worth of training already accomplished on your character.

edit: M-O-D-I-C-U-M is a bad word?

Well... I might be wrong, but so far I haven't seen coins floating in space, or my Overview doesn't have that setting ugh
