The Ernies- Here and Now

For whAtever reason, this band is great but simply failed to launch.
This is a fairly popular song for tv shows and commercials to use,
so some of you have probably heard it before somewhere.

I would not consider Voivod or Meshugga obscure but they are both great bands either way.

From Seattle Washington - Black Breath who reminds me of Entombed.

I didn't know about Black Breath, that was cool. If you like that old-school Swedish Death Metal sound, check out Bloodbath, a side-project band originally put together by Michael Akerfeldt (Opeth) and some guys from Katatonia as a tribute to that particular sound, particularly on their first album, "Resurrection Through Carnage".

Globus - Preliator
E-Nomine - Vater Unser
E-Nomine - Mitternacht
E-Nomine - Das Omen
Sigur Ros - Sćglópur
Jesper Kyd - Earth

I do see Globus and E-Nomine get used quite a bit as YouTube 'EPIC' music, Sigur Ros are obviously quite well known for Hoppipolla but I do like Sćglópur and Jesper Kyd's Earth is from the soundtrack to Assassin's Creed 2 (and so pretty well known by ear).

I thought I'd throw in some American electro most people don't know even exists, its actually some of my fav stuff. I live on the east coast but ran into a bunch of west cost electro bands while in California.

Some history lesson here. This song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wVH1kxqT9k

Was played by the finns during their conflict with the soviets. The soviets had left radio controlled bombs behind that could be detonated when a certain combination of notes were broadcast simultaneously. To prevent them from being triggered the finns spammed the airwaves with this song, over and over, for three months.

It worked, the radio controlled bombs were ineffective.
