1. Open EvE
2. Read news ticker above login info area.
3. Make sure you read it.
4. Plan accordingly.
5. Try to log in at the estimated time.

CCP doesn't "give" us anything. We buy it. The service along with it's downtime. I would prefer a better approximation of the down time so I can plan my paid play time around their maintenance.

as far as my own tests have shown, you have to destroy the command centre (which also destroys all connecting facilities), before you can "upgrade" to an improved building.
however, im still pretty new to all this myself, i could be misinformed.

The only patch I would like to see is a big notice at the log in screen of upcoming extended downtime on whatever date.

As far as I do understand there's some browser embedded in EVE? That'd open up plenty of opportunity to unify how to get information across, if fiddleing around with motd files adds to the administrative burden. I know, off-topic in this thread.

No. Export your stuff, pull the command center down and replace, the old one is lost.

Obviously anything that can go wrong will, and so I can understand the position CCP is in to roll out patches in a timely manner, and the frustration they AND the community feel when estimates get pushed back.

Having said that, if the shoe were on the other foot, do you think CCP would be as forgiving as the playerbase?

For example, we all know that we are scheduled to pay once per month to be able to log in and play EvE. This day is something that can be planned for, predicted, and calculated by. So what would happen if you were an hour late on that payment? Two hours? But you sent an email updating CCP that the payment would be an hour late. Then two hours?

I'm sure they would still let you log in. Really. Laughing

This person totally has it nailed, In the past week CCP has stolen from me hours and hours of game time I have payed for and now again, I have to go to sleep it's that close to get up time already, Now I have lost another night.
What has to be done, Has to be done but we need to be adequate compensated. My extra Account was closed because I couldn't pay, but I didn't get 2 days free time.
I love this Game but really this is aski.. Forcing too much, the stress.
Not only that but I have brought 3 people to the game who pay there Accounts and sure I got 30 days for each, However the loyalty is not replayed by this.
We Just Want A Fair Go CCP Guys and Gals. please. Neutral

I'm just happy that I will no longer need a error reporter for my crash reporter's crashing....

Hopefully.

And why has it been delayed this time? Did CCP learn nothing from the last downtime?

You guys whine and ***** too much.

I always like patches. They show progress, regardless of how long they take to implement during server downtime.

Appreciate the fact that we -are- getting stuff fixed. And that we're getting new stuff into the game.

If you seriously whine about server down time, you really need to consider what you do with your life, and how you value yourself and your time spent.

paying customers always have the right to complain, also how many people that want to try eve log in on days when there is downtime??

Mistakes happen , BUT again if you are constabtly failing... do something to fix the issue or put REALISTIC downtimes =) Obviously aloy of you just have very low service expectations... please becopme one of my customers, pay me and let me fail while you pay me too =)

The BEST thing in the world still sucks if you can't use it. Far as the get a life LULZ comments...who says i am not working right noowRolling Eyes

It is too easy to blame CCP for everything. Try to switch on your brains and think again. If you ever did a project covering more than one significant issue you should know that each issue normally has its own team and issues are closed independently of each other (unless the relate to each other from the beginning). So, for example, they wanted to introduce night lights on planets and assigned someone to it. His/her/their task was completed in time for this patch. Other teams are working on other issues - including those bugs that were reported to CCP.

CCP surely has its own vision of Eve's future. It may or may not coincide with what you anticipate. In any case you have to follow what they think is better for Eve or leave it. I am even sure they take constructive feedback into account if they can find it among other junk, so I guess if you want to influence the future of Eve - get a job with CCP. Very Happy
