Yeah, Same with me, Disabling HW did not fix the issue. I suspect this issue will never be resolved since I do not know who would even look at it. If I submitted a 'bug report' with Adobe or ATI about a map not opening in EVE online I kinda know how far that would list on their priorities. (Same with CCP with all their other projects going on). At least the issue is far from game-breaking. |

2GB Sapphire HD5870 here, three displays in Eyefinity 3x1, 5760x1200, same issue.
Keeps crashing my machine, or dropping out the GFX driver which Win7 restarts on its own.
Only happens in window mode.

Yup, have an ATI card and the same problem. It's intermittant too, as in sometimes i can play vids no problem and others it crashes. Sound keeps working fine though. Must be the same issue as all y'all. |

By the way, this is not specific to Flash. It happens with video files in Media Player too, maybe other players as well. |

I just crashed again, not with the map open, but tactical overview. |

And once again while undocking, no maps or anything... Don't think any video was playing, but maybe there was some flash content in a browser window or something.
What the heck is going on?

I just had it happen as well. It's fuggin crazy, I can still hear audio from my computer as well as remote desktop into it (but not the session EVE is running on), but the video is locked and USB devices aren't responding. OS is Win Server 2008 R2, Video Card is Radeon 5850 w/ Catalyst 10.10 drivers. |

Edited by: Othran on 15/11/2010 12:00:26 I still think it is Flash. Yes it does sometimes happen to me with WMC, but that's because regardless of what you set in (for example) NVidia control panel WMC STILL uses h/w acceleration - I can see it using GPU-Z. Doesn't crash on opening map though and the driver always recovers without a reboot.
The USB devices not responding rings a bell with me. There was a Windows update that (eventually) completely hosed my machine and that was causing issues with WMC, etc. It was KB979538 which was to do with USB video devices and was a recommended update. That caused my machine to crash repeatedly whenever WMC started. I didn't bother with it on the restore and the machine has been fine since. |

I've been getting this too. Hard lock up when I look at the star map with flash content (own3d.tv) running in my browser. I'll try disabling HW acceleration in flash to see if that helps. ATI 5850 graphics card. |

Edited by: Azuse on 15/01/2011 15:01:37What people have to understand is that while flash 10.1 added gpu acceleration they didn't shift the whole pipeline onto the gpu, hence cpu spikes freezing the pc. The good news is 10.2 shifts everything onto the gpu which has finally fixed this problem* (for me at least - cat 10.12). Run the flash uninstaller, then install 10.2 (RC) from adobe labs*has also fixed the UVD clocks overriding the 3D clocks. In fact when running flash in a browser it stays on 2D clocks (only took a year ). |
