o7 My condolences. It saddens me greatly to hear about the passing of all those fighting for those respective countries. To hear about the loss of a fellow member of Primary. is even more saddening. My heart goes out to the loved ones he left behind.

Regardless of your opinion of the war in Afgfhanistan or on the merits of the use of military force in general, the loss of this young man is a tragedy and this thread is not the place for such a debate.

Just wanna start out by saying, though I generally disagree with most of the polital decision in USA (especially wardecking bonanza by george W), the war in Afghanistan is probably the most justified conflict USA has been in since WWII.
I'm not saying all who are there are doing it for 'the right cause', which I would say is to uphold the human rights and prevent acts of terror. I'm not saying the methods used there are right either, just that there are good reasons for foreign military forces to be there.

With that out of the way..

Those who posts these kind of threads, please learn from history. You will get trolled, and you will get posts from people disagreeing about the person beeing a noble hero. It's not that hard to understand. For the people who get shot at (including civilans), it's kinda hard to think of them as heroes. Then when there are stories of 'heroes' running around raping/murdering defenceless civilians, it's kinda hard to just say "He was a soldier, a real hero", without really knowing him.
And for those playing the religious card 'crazy terrorists think they will go to paradise with virgins', I assume you are christians, and I just wanna say keep in mind most of islam and christianity is the same at it's core. Just in most western countries, and some arabic, we have become secularized so we don't have to run around and kill people by stoning them if they are gay/different religion (which the bible tells us to). If you don't want crazy suicidebombers, reducing the impact religion has on politics is the way to go. And as far as 'first blood'... when it comes to the religions i belive it was the pope that started the crusades that could be considered the culprit (yes, for religous people that kind of stuff still matters).

And my serious condoleances to his friend and family, as well as to the innocent civilians that die in the conflict. May democracy prevail.

Former US Army here, and I still have mates humping their asses off in those hell holes. One of my good friends, with whom I served closely with for over three years died not too long ago in Iraq to an RPG, a good natured and very earnest corn-bred country boy from Georgia. I fondly remember talking smack and playing video games with him in the barracks, teasing him with some of the other guys the night he lost his virginity, and other good times. Now he's dead like so many others. It's truly very sad when you think about it.

I didn't know you Droma Njo, but I hope your soul is at peace. My thoughts and sympathies go out to your family and friends.

I give condolences to the soldier, i myself have served in the middle east and feel for the soldiers family for the loss.

Just one thing though, please ban these threads in these forums. Before it got moved to out of pod it got attacked by many people opposed to it, understandable if you are on the other side of the argument.

WTF? You deleted MY posts? His post specificly shows he died in a MILITARY CONFLICT, my posts were on topic and not even intended to be OFFENSIVE. If I wanted to be offensive there are MUCH, MUCH worse things I could have said. Not to mention why would I try to be offensive while ALSO protecting the soldiers privacy? That doesn't make any sense.

*EDIT*

Would you delete posts about drunk driving had the OP mentioned he died in a DUI related incident? No, you wouldn't. This post should not be treated any different.
