Printed on U.S. rocket: "Aimed towards enemy"

"A five second fuse always only last three seconds." can't remember where it was written

Thousands of mens death is statistics."

Most likely to be referring to "Front toward enemy" printed on the front of a claymore mine as opposed to a rocket.

About the Ford T: "You can get it in any colour you want. As long you want it black."

Likely an urban legend as the model T was not originally available in black, although it had a small number of other colour options.

Another Churchill one: "Goodness and greatness are rarely found in the same man."

Not sure of origins, "I heard it from 40k originally: Only the insane have strength enough to prosper, only those who prosper truely judge what is sane."

"those who sacrifice precious liberty for security deserve neither and will lose both" Benjamin Frankin I think.

"A dead thing can go with the stream, but only a living thing can go against it." G.K Chesterton.

Better one from G.K: "The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese."

"Some say he has a digital face". Jeremy Clarkson on the Stig. In fact any Stig quotes pretty much.

Ripley: You know, Burke, I don't know which species is worse. You don't see them ****ing each other over for a goddamn percentage.

Hudson: Let's just bug out and call it even, OK? What are we talking about this for?
Ripley: I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
Hudson: ****in' A...
Burke: Ho-ho-hold on, hold on one second. This installation has a substantial dollar value attached to it.

By far one of my favorite quotes:

It is probably true quite generally that in the history of human thinking the most fruitful developments frequently take place at those points where two different lines of thought meet. These lines may have their roots in quite different parts of human culture, in different times or different cultural environments or different religious traditions: hence if they actually meet, that is, if they are at least so much related to each other that a real interaction can take place, then one may hope that new and interesting developments may follow.

Sadly, this explains the bulk of the issues and code in most of my classes. The implementation is easy. Making sure even an idiot can do it is much less so.

Madness is something rare in individuals - but in groups, parties, peoples, ages it is the rule. Friedrich Nietzsxhe

So ironic for me as i am err.. bonkers and I see the world as lots of individuals who seem sane enough by themselves but often act as idiots in groups.

Most people here already took the best quotes, so I'll add a few of my more-favorite ones.

"Two leaps per chasm is fatal." -Chinese proverb

"The reverse side also has a reverse side." Japanese proverb

"MMORPG: Many Men Online Role-Playing Girls." (dunno who said it first)

"Do it in a Kestrel." -"Chribba"

"The Internet: Where men are men, women are men, and little girls are FBI agents."

Benjamin Franklin in a pamphlet to the French explaining that America was not full of savages:
“Bad examples to youth are more rare in America, which must be comfortable consideration to parents. To this may be truly added, that serious religion, under its various denominations, is not only tolerated, but respected and practised. Atheism is unknown there; infidelity rare and secret; so that persons may live to a great age in that country, without having their piety shocked by meeting with either an atheist or an infidel.”

Pretty much every piece of dialogue in the Legacy of Kain. Especially Kain's himself.
I'm not sure if it's the ability of the writers, the voice talents of Simon Templeman (not to belittle the other amazing voice actors in the series) or both in equal measure.

"But suppose you throw a coin enough times... Suppose one day, it lands on its edge." - Kain
"Hate me, but do it honestly." - Kain

EDIT: And of course, there's my signature's quote.

"To have faith is to have purpose, and purpose in life is what defines a man, and makes him steadfast and resolute. Faith keeps him true and, even in the darkest hours, illuminates him like a candle flame. Faith guides him surely, from birth to the grave. It shows him the path, and prevents him from straying into the lightless thickets where insanity awaits. To lose faith is to lose purpose, and to be berefit of guidance. For a man without faith will no longer be true, and a mind without purpose will walk in dark places."
