Hi ^^ I'm trying to figure out what a fair price would be for instas for the entire region of syndicate.

I have:

all jumpgates to all jumpgates,
all jumpgates to all stations,
all stations to all stations,
and all stations to all jumpgates.

This includes all the chokepoints, 3rd front alliance, and JQA territories.

It's quite a few instas, 1463 to be exact. I plan on selling these as region packs, but I have no clue as to how much the community would be willing to pay for insta-packs like this.

So I guess I'm asking how much this would be worth to you ^^ It was alot of work and stuff.

Madri:

That is impressive to say the least. I'm sure you could get a decent amount of money for these too. I don't spend much time over there or I would offer you some isk for em.

good luck, and keep up the charting, and sooner or later you'll get my cash Wink

i would actually be interested in such a thing if they were all well organized (as in in folders get x amount of small secure cans and stick them in there to trade them organized) but if its just on ehuge dump of bms i doubt many people would really want them (unless they were named really well)

They are named in the following format:

Current location - Destination

They are all truncated to fit on the in-space right click menu for easy navigation. But, they are all in one folder, and it does take some time to load the bunch.

It was my understanding that this was the most popular format of bookmark organization, if this is not the case, I would greatly appreciate an education in the most commonly accepted formats, so I can supply a better bookmark ^^

Oh, and the copies will be traded via can, I would dread trading 1400+ instas individually :/

But what would a good price point be? Will, you said you might be interested, assuming they did fit your tastes, how much would you be willing to pay?

Edit: altered format based on user suggestions.

If it was a region I actually operated in, I'd give you 100m for them.
Sell 'em 10x and you'd be a billionaire.

You might have more luck with war-torn regions.

If you're interested in negotiating a non-exclusive contract for other regions, contact me in-game. (Ie. I pay you for the initial set, but you can sell 'em again to others).

You have made alot of effort in this
but remember people will want proof that it isnt a scam. system names a few screen shots of p&p may be proof enough. I think a corp price of 100 mill with a "do not resell" instruction would be a fair price. This could obviously be abused but them's the breaks. I think alliances would be willing to pay alot more - you may even want to approach third party corperations with good reputations such as BIG or NAGA and see if they can act as brokers for sales. ie they prove the BM's are ok and then sell them on your behalf for a fee. Please come and do essence and verge vender please please please and good luck

I was thinking about using NAGA for escrowing the packs. I figured people would think it would be a scam, but it's not. And essense will be done for sure, my headquarters is in Cat ^^

As far as screenshots go, do I take them of the instas in the folder, or actually in use?

When essence is done or any other empire systems, I'd love to get em all.

But he way I see it, is that it's going to be tough to sell em massively though because ppl will prolly try and resell copies of em.

If you pick a high price, be sure that there will be resales
Confused

I actually expect that people will most likely try. But its a pain to copy this many bookmarks. Plus, the imitators won't be making new regions. Even if they do, less work for me ^^

This is why I started this thread. I don't want to rip the community off, but I also don't want to steal from myself either. I'm not sure what a good price point for these sets would be.

So far everyone is between 10-100 million, and I'm still at a loss as to what to charge.

I'm actually leaning towards a per-insta charge that way I can easily calculate the worth of a region based off of the number of bookmarks for that region.

Whada ya think?

My thought for a price would be to figure out how long it took you, and then figure out how much money you could have made mining scordite (or some other similar task) for that much time. That will give you a base cost, and you can mark up from there.

They are named in the following format:

Current location - Destination (system name)

In systems with more than 2 gates, you need to know where you are coming 'from' in order to tell Bookmarks apart. For Example:

X-M2LR to FD-MLJ from BMNV-P
X-M2LR to FD-MLJ from K5-JRD

I'm curious how your BMs are named that allows them to be distinguished.

All of my instas are named like this:

If you had just jumped into Orvolle from Grinacanne and were wanting to go to PF-346 then the insta would be named:

Grinacanne - PF-346

Simply put, the above insta says your at the Grinacanne gate in the orvolle system, and it warps to the PF-346 gate in the orvolle system.

Does that help? Very Happy

if a system has four gates and two stations that's 30 different place-to-place combinations. granted, there are always some doubles because you can approach stations from probably 135 degrees or more and dock instantly, but still, this is simply a mind-boggling amount of work!

It's like a big game of connect the dots to me ^^

Just happens that it benefits everyone in the end.

This pack has gone up for sale and been well recieved in this thread:

But doable.

I'm a Bookmark maker myself, although I've never done anything this vast.

Making the Insta Bookmarks is very fast. In fact, when I make it them, it often takes me as much time to test them than to make them (ALL my BMs are tested). Some folks simply assume their BMs are good, and move on, never testing them until they come back that way. I test mine before I concider them 'valid'. If the tactical situation makes it impossible to test a BM, I add "UNTESTED" to the name. Tactical Bookmarks can take more time to make, but rarely need to be as precise.

100% correct here. Takes forever to test them all. Sad

But how quick they are to make depends on how many ships are chasing/shooting at you too
