to be fair, we're all being a tad harsh on CCP, cut 'em some slack guys...

on that note, i get a buffer overrun on the mac client when I close it....

also rename our alliance back to mostly harmless if you would...

I HAVE A FIX!!!
The FILE you get from chribba's torrent creates an installer with a RAR file. just use WINRAR to complete the UNPACK! Extract To... And select your eve folder to install. I couldn't believe this actually worked. MANUAL UNPACKING!!

What are you using to patch the client - the autopatcher or did you download the patch manually? If the latter, which patch did you download?

Is anyone else having a problem just getting the download? I am running the Windows client (Vista with all updates) on a DSL connection. I have tried multiple times using the auto-updater, the manual download, and the entire client. I tried to repair my client, have disabled my antivirus, closed all non-essential programs, and checked the support area, trying their suggestions. I have admin privileges and tried running the installer with admin priv.

The auto-updater stops downloading at 291Mb of 291Mb, 99% Done with the following message:
There was a temporary error downloading the required files
The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response

The manual download gets to 293Mb of 293Mb with 1 second left and then stops.

I have been playing EVE for nearly a year and have had no problems with any updates or patches until now. Any suggestions?


Since then I have used CCleaner to clear all temp files and cookies, cleared my EVE cache, and rebooted my puter. Same results with both auto-updater and the manual download.

Original Dominion -> autopatch. Autopatch failed where specified, attempted shutting down firewalls/AV/etc, rebooting, unplugging, clearing up more HD space. Then completely uninstalled eve and downloaded the full installer, where it also got stuck at the output directory. Not sure what to do now considering my old dominion install is gone and I can't find a chribba torrent to a RAR file.

Of course, when I originally made the patch request it was about 16:00 PM CST (21:00 GMT). I attempted to log into the game as normal, downloaded the auto-patch program. As usual, the EVE Client closed. Auto-patch program kicked up, hit the next button a couple of times and.... you know the rest :(. But as I posted earlier, I found a fix, I just had to get the RAR to unpack to the correct destination, and it worked just fine. Didn't even lose too many settings. :)

Can you link to this RAR? What do I do if I have 0 eve installations on my HD? IE no dominion, no tyrannis, because the only chribba torrent I could find was dom->tyrannis patch, not full install.

When using the Scan Probe Interface, the movable 'boxes' that represent the Scan Probes locations are now a VERY DARK GREY. This makes them VERY hard to see. Before they were White.

I saw earlier in the thread that someone had trouble seeing the Red Dots and Red Circles in the Scanning Interface. I had no issues seeing the Red Dots/Circles, but the movable boxes were hard to see.

I was still able to scan out seven signatures with no problem. However, I'm guessing that the two scanning issues are related some how with some color changes??? Maybe this is also related to all the Corporation Logo's having a different visual appearance???

I get the same error. i.e. Select your profile, select your corporation, and then click the "Add Contact" on the left. You get the error regardless which standing is picked.

I was able to add my alliance to my contacts with no problems.

Maybe I need to be a lil more specific, I'm sorry. Ok, download the file named 'EVE_Premium_Setup_154366_m.exe' There's a link to it from the eve website. I'll edit later with a link. then RUN that file.. it's run some simple extractor and unpack 2 files to a directory named RarSFX0 in your documents and settings folder/'profile name'/local settings (may be hidden)/temp/RarSFX0 .. then open that directory. Therein lies your needed RAR file!

Exclamation Killmails - Victim FACTION - Issue
Greetings, with the Tyrannis patch CCP has new bug's implemented. Looks like one of the bugs is causing a problem with showing the correct Faction membership of the victim in the killmails. That results in showing the membership not correct on EDK's.

also confirming that overview is not updating, It happens randomly but always at the most opportune moment, when the vaga landed on my falcon and the overview told me it was still 300kish away. I got away, but my ceo did not, lost an arbitrator. He filed a petition, and has screenshots.

There's an issue with POS Management windows. If you warp away from a POS with the management window open and on the Defense tab, the window doesn't automatically close like it should. Furthermore you can't manually close it, instead you get an error about being too far from the POS:

It is now impossible to get into Jita. After 5 minutes of "Officials have closed the stargates in Jita due to heavy congestion. Travelers are advised to seek alternate routes.", I finally managed to jump and I'm now stuck in jump for 10 minutes. After logging out and back in, I'm presented with "The solar system you are located in is too heavily congested ...", after picking one of the systems that I tought people would be least likely to be in - the black screen we're so familiar with from Dominion wars.

I'm impressed. I thought that performance wise, there couldn't be anything worse than Dominion. I was wrong, I must humbly admit defeat.

** If you are having issues with patching **

If you are on a Windows machine, please try deleting both the cache and the settings folders for your client (they should be in AppData in your user folder under CCP\EVE\<client path>).

Then try patching by either using the autopatcher or downloading the full patch from HERE.

If you have already uninstalled your client, try the full installer from HERE.

I did find a corp that had some date info on what alliance the corp was in for just one of the previous alliances, but the corp had been in about 8 alliances, and all the others said "[Disbanded alliance," and I KNOW that that is not true.
