very wise. Torrents == Good

Yes, we need more legal uses for Torrents so ISPs don't have the illegal excuse to squash them.

Let me explain something to you guys....

you say 40.000 ppl would download the patch at the same time...

becouse the worl is a sphere and not a pizza probably 20.000 are sleeping.

form the 20.000 probably 5.000 are at work, and 5.000 are doing something normal like having seks, doing some sports, out for a drink, in cinema or whatever...

so only 10.000 ppl will try to download the patch at the same time!

This amount of downloads is easy to handle with 3 servers...

so STOP PANIC and take a drink, go have sex, or watch a movie!

The point is having appropriate upgrade information in place, as that's within the duty of a professional company to protect its paying users from malware, otherwise possibly being given to those as "the really shiny upgrade stuff" from malicious third parties.

Imagine somebody forging an "update" executable now, displaying EVE login screen, asking for your username/password just to send it to some remote server of your friendly EVE enemy....

Um, maybe it's because Greenwich Mean Time is in the UK and that's the only time you use there?!?!?! I live in Italy and it's only two hours behind GMT, but you DO realize that the US has 4 different time zones, not counting Alaska and Hawaii? Someone living in Florida is in a different time zone as someone living in Texas or Missouri or Louisiana or Illinois or Nebraska or California, etc. etc. Then with daylight savings time, you have to add or subtract an hour depending on the time of year, and even then not all states recognize daylight savings time, like Arizona. Also, the time changes in the US are sometimes at different times of the year from the time changes in Europe.

great explanation, to write such an app it woudl take about 15 mninutes, 10 minutes would take to place the images and write the text you see... so the friendly enemy would get the login informations of a whoel bunch of peapole... so you loose everything!

Hmmm, 4 zones not including AK and HI? By your math, US has 6 zones. Who's da tool? :P

The United States uses nine standard time zones. From east to west they are Atlantic Standard Time (AST), Eastern Standard Time (EST), Central Standard Time (CST), Mountain Standard Time (MST), Pacific Standard Time (PST), Alaskan Standard Time (AKST), Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HST), Samoa standard time (UTC-11) and Chamorro Standard Time (UTC+10).

hm it would be nice if you could calculate also star date and maybe gregorian date Twisted Evil nice would also be the solar date and the moon phase to it

+1
And if possible : the Julian Calendar, the Maya Calendar, the Chinese Calendar, the Meyer-Palmen Solilunar Calendar and the Liberalia Triday Calendar.

LOL if someone made an app with all that, i'd use it just to mess with people Razz

and in regards to Atlantis, it's the end of an Age. No long will the US have manned access to space under their own means.

Next phase is the Moon or Mars, and its just the end of the space shuttles.... on to bigger and better things!!! After 40 or so years!!!!

Don't be such an ignorant tool, EVE time stays the same so all you got to do is look at you're own damn clock and work out the diference, damn if you were any sort of player you would work in EVE time and have to work out the real world time from that.

The UK has time changes so is not gmt atm, but really you saying the USA having so many TZ's is crap cause people only live in one so only need to work it out for there own TZ and not the whole of the damn continent !!

Actually, the UK uses GMT and BST, depending on daylight savings. So way to be ignorant there.

And to be honest, if you know what time the normal, daily downtime is in your timezone, it shouldn't be too difficult to work out what time this extended downtime should finish.

lol, well for me, it's:
1)nearly 8am so drinking is generally discouraged and I'm not an alcoholic in which i would think of doing that.
2)unless I'm watching them at home, going out to a movie is out of the question.
3)wife just gave birth to my beautiful son and it's doctor's orders of no nookie for 6 weeks (really sucks, but that's life).

so that leaves me here to watch merrily the conversations going on in the forum....though I might make myself a bite to eat whilst I wait. If the game isn't up by 1800 UTC and there isn't any word from CCP, then I'll start getting anticipant.
