Make them more challenging. Every last one of them (and ofc reduce their numbers).

It makes no sense from an RP point of view to have billions of people literally commit suicide while fighting for pirate factions with another 60 trillion waiting in line just to do the same until the end of time and it is boring ingame to have boring NPCs but 20000 of them (mainly talking about missions and plexes here).

Increase bounties on NPCs, make them tougher and fewer. Maybe we can then run missions in PvP fits and go to lolsec oO

Yes, I do run missions a lot, no I actually do PvP (albeit on another char) and yes, I have played WoW but only for a month.

Maybe makes the necessary evil that is grinding to blow money on stuff more enjoyable than it is atm.

Sleepers aren't like what I imagine atm. I imagine a single NPC to be almost up to par with a player.

Drakes can still solo most low class WH sites.

Agree 100%. Warping into a mission, turning on your repper and walking away from your computer for an hour is the ~absolute worst~ type of grinding I've ever seen in any RPG in the history of civilization. There's absolutely no challenge, no engaging gameplay, no decision-making, very little action at all. You sit there repping away and slowly killing them one by one over the course of a half hour or an hour or more, then you go and get your salvager and spend another half hour or whatever bravely battling wrecks, then bring in your indy to scoop all the loot, then repeat.

I would have a great deal more fun if PvE incorporated aspects of PvP into them; buffer tanking, ECM (and ECCM), drones, logistics. Rather than warp into a mission in my little Domi or whatever and slowly kill 20 battleships and 40 battlecruisers/cruisers and 20 frigates and blah blah, Have maybe one or two battleships, or a small BC/cruiser gang with ECM or Logistics, or some sniper HACs, or yadda yadda. Require actual decision making and some thought process into doing missions beyond simply aggroing giant fleets of NPCs in a specific order.

To maintain the status quo, have these reduced numbers of NPCs drop better loot and give better/more salvage.

CCP mentioned that they intend to bring the advanced sleeper AI to conventional NPCs, eventually.

Don't want to sound too optimistic, but fingers crossed this happens within 5 years

If you don't find missioning fun, don't do it. Or is the concept of "a game" too complicated for you?

Some of us like missions the way they are.

Pretty much the lamest response? I agree with the OP! some need to make them harder! I mean keep it easy? meh WoW is that way >>>> as they dumb down their game some much because people cry too hard because they think as a stone.

Get back to us when you have soloed a class 6... wait even carriers have been lost in class 6's. You can't solo them, they tend to make easy work of battleships. Ever seen this one video on youtube of the fleet that never made it back? Most of them were in battleships, drakes, and command ships. It was sick to see sleepers nearly insta pop battleships and the lot. They already are on par with the player. A class 6 can own pretty much anybody. They make carriers sweat blood.

Yes, I did. He suggested it would make missioning "more enjoyable".

Whereas I am saying that I enjoy the game as it is, and that if he doesn't find missions enjoyable now, he should stop doing them.

"WoW is that way" is surely the EVE equivalent of a Godwin default - a sure sign you don't actually have an argument to make. I'm not calling for something to be nerfed, after all - I'm saying that missions are fine as they are.

"It's not fun for me" is just not an even vaguely relevant reason for suggesting a change. If it's not fun for you, do something that is, and stop whining.

So...no suggestions for how to make anything better, more challenging, or more entertaining because YOU like missions how they are?
