Glad to see some official answer at last.

Looks to me, I was right - presence in local chat is not logged, untill you say something,

That would be a bizarre situation. Your client knows others are there regardless of whether or not they're speaking in local. Their client knows you're there (under normal circumstances, of course), yet this info isn't logged anywhere? Very strange.

Just try to think that way: your client knows who is in system, other clients know who is in system too and all this info is in logs. But is you in local chat channel? Maybe. This informations isn't in logs bcos programmer thought that "is in system" = "is in local chat channel"... that's the problem we think.

Assumingly too much decisions (to show object in chat-to show not [WH alike],to allow to jump to object,or not [scanned to 100% or no],who knews, what else, was left to decide on clientside.Hence possibilities to abuse ,via doing something monekymagic to client...or packets it sends to server....something in that line. I read, that maybe packets were extracted fron client pc memory,or packets changed (wh alike chat forced to go server-side.....).No idea,i struggle basic DOS commands myself.

I wonder what will CCP do with such an abuser, but with no logs on the matter?

They probably ask a pitch fork wielding mob who all had already made their minds up on the matter.

I am glad I live in a country where we require something called proof before we pass sentence.

I find it very funny that the people from eve-ru seem to think that I can't read what they say about me if they do it in Russian on a different website. The fact that whatever phrase they're using in Russian get translated as "the pretty boy of the square" by google makes me laugh as well. Sorry my soviet brothers, but I'm not going to get baited by a plan you hatch on a public forum that you expect me not to read.

Glad to see that CCP is on this. Hopefully they'll have a hotfix soon. If any devs or GMs involved in the investigation are interested in a detailed explanation on how to do the logon trap right just give me a shout and I'll cooperate fully.

Go test your logon trap, it won't work, I doubt you will catch a single macro and certainly not consecutive kills in a small amount of time. I have tried to catch macros with logoffskies with 2 accounts. Guess nobody told you that they usually safe up for about 20mins+ (and the time they stay safed changes every time so you can't time it perfectly) and don't go back to the same belt or the top belt.

In this topic was link to botsite forum,(evesearch),where "buyers asked help from customers care"...some of bots apparently recheck local, while warping to safe. When bothunter logoff asap, after entering local,and-warped to belt, there is SLIM chanche, that bots warp back to that very belt asap(small chanche in multibelt systems indeed).Apparently bots had fail in script, and instead of waiting 20 min, after recheck of local-bots returned to random belt. Thus,if countered via login back, bothunter could hope, that bot is in SAME belt.Cant be used for Monkeyalike killspree though

Without needing to add a fancy teleport feature to this bug, if he can join remote locals invisibly, he can find subsequent targets several systems away without needing the time necessary to jump through systems hunting. Send the cloaky spotter directly to the next victim 3 jumps away and the killships follow after they finish up. Saves alot of time, & can be covered as 'lucky'

Yeah, the problem is "directly". As in, entering system directly at the grid of a victim, different from the gate one.

Quoting this before you edit it.

When were you thinking about informing CCP, or was this something you were just hoping to use yourself?

Farmers are people that farm rats, I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that Monkey targets them. Maybe you read into my statement the word "macro" Keep your jump to conclusion mat to yourself thank you.

/Facepalm to the people that have never seen a killboard before...the location is kept unknown on just about all large alliance killboards for an hour. It would be kind of easy to track a roaming gang if it displayed it immediately.

OIC. By farmer you meant anyone that kills a rat. So, it was just you referring to EVERYONE. Gotcha Rolling Eyes.

I don't think that's the issue at all, killing macro bots with an exploit is a bannable offense.

The issue here is, whether he is using an exploit, and there has been no proof that he has.

I am not willing to accept exaggerated stories and selectively remembered events as any type of proof, especially when there is a lot of bad blood spilled. Revenge is a powerful motive, and if the people who lost very expensive ships can create the suggestion of an exploit, then they stand to gain in terms of reimbursement. There is more than one agenda here.

The only people who are in a position to decide if someone was using exploits are CCP.
