Ok so I've read a few things on this forum about the topic of dreadnoughts in wormholes. They can only go in (C4?) C5 C6 or so, and if you bring one to a battle it spawns 6 more sleeper BS for every single wave. (or something?)

I also read that someone on this forum brought a revelation to one of these battles and they simply couldn't hit the sleeper battleships. Some people called him a newb, but I'm sort of worried that maybe he wasn't a newb because the dreads got nerfed in Dominion right? Now they hit POS better, but have even worse tracking or something?

Has anyone shot down battleships in wormhole space with dreadnoughts. Specifically revelations? Video link? Anything?

More enemies equals more loot, and just a fun thing to try to do. I thought a battleship was the limit for a dreadnought on tracking, but perhaps this has changed also?

Dreads are siege weapons, not ratting weapons. If you want to rat in a cap, use a carrier.

So dreads just don't hit battleships? I'm cool with that, but is this the case?

You need webs, lots and lots of webs.

Edit:

Before Dominion, there were tales of people regularly using Moros to solo C5 sites. We did once catch one doing some with 2x Damnation as support (one had already been destroyed by the Sleepers). We killed his fleet booster but when we went after the Moros it killed the wave trigger and we had to disengage, while we were assembling a bigger blob, too dumb to bubble his exit hole to trap him, he deployed/pulled drones until all the scrams got off of him and he warped to his hole and jumped out.

This doesn't happen anymore as far as I know.

So basically you need your support fleet webbing the hell out of them for it to work.

Really makes you wonder if it's too much trouble. Those sleeper BS move fast. Asking your fleet to put webs in might be asking too much... hmm... A medium slot on a few of your ships... it just doesn't seem efficient. The Stasis webifier II goes about 10km and -60%
http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Stasis_Webifier

So then your support fleet has to get in real close... and if someone dies your dreadnought is useless again...

Yeah it just isn't worth it.

I would not use a dread for killing a BS. End of story. The reason all boils down to tracking. I ran a lvl5 last night (stray matar carrier) where you must blow up an NPC carrier obviously. This mission typically takes ages with a carrier and domi pair so I figured I'd be a smartass and bring my revelation with a corp mate in an archon. In that mission I fully discovered just how bad the revelation's tracking really is.

The slow boating BS'5 45km away moving at maybe 100m/s completely broke my tracking, I could not hit them. In addition, I was still moving 20m/s when I entered siege. Given the massive mass boost you get when in siege (to reduce bumping) it also meant I coasted about 5 minutes. During this long slow slide, I also couldn't hit the completely stationary neut/missile towers which were also around 35km away (25km by the time I stopped).

Moral of the story, if it moves, don't even think about trying to drop a dread on it. Also, be sure to come to a complete stop before sieging.Laughing And on a final note, it did **** up that npc carrier rather well but overall the idea was fail. I would not do it again. Yes I was pulse fit btw.

You need to think outside of convention. The sleeper BS spawned by Carriers/Dreadnoughts are much more difficult than the standard BS from the sites. They have more HP, do more damage, and are worth a ton more. If you can get your dread to hit these BS, it makes taking them down go MUCH quicker, which can be important if your fleet cannot sustain the DPS they put out for long.

Here's a hint: There is a certain ship that, if you can increase it's survivability, makes bringing a dread worthwhile.

I will tell you this much, since the info is out there, but hard to find. You can get 4 additional waves by warping in capital ships. This occurs when the capital enters grid, and not when warp is triggered. These waves are limited to 2 per capital type, so you get 2 waves for 2 carriers, and 2 waves for 2 dreads. You cannot get a third wave of any kind. The first wave per type is 6 BS, the second is 8 BS. These BS are worth 20m a piece, which can net you an additional 600m for the day. These can be spawned at any time during the site, and are usually done before or after the rest of the sleepers have been taken out.

The tracking of dread is simply too bad for kill the additional elite bs wave.
sleeper bs are really fast ship, 60m/s with 3web...or 200+ sometimes with their mwd, even with multiple web and painter it will be a pain to have a full efficient dps, yet its possible if you spawn far of them...but a dread dont give his full dps.

Carrier are just more efficient, they can remote their fleet, tank like dread, and dps with drone.

for farm the escalation, you need to be base on w-space, and have multiple carrier.
just bring additional carrier after each wave. and you'll gain in powerfull and farm ability.
some advices:
- ecm ship reduce more dps than a logistic remote you.
- you really need a wh fleet with logistic t3/command/bs.
- Choose wisely your bonus of wormhole...no bonus dps (sleepers win) or armor (too long),
- alt wit 3 tank gang module (orca or commandship, or carrier) is priceless
- test your fleet on serenity...coz additional bs scramble :p

2 x 90% webs will slow the BS's down enough to use dreads on.

Spent much time actually playing the game lately? There haven't been 90% webs for a long long time now.

A marauder and some of the pirate faction ships still have them. But I'm not sure they are up to the task of surviving the additional sleeper spawns. Even so, tracking on dreads is pretty awful so I'm not sure it would work anyways. But it might, I've never tried it. All I know is last time I tried to shoot a moros with my pulse revelation I was bumped on cynoing in and couldn't hit him at 15km while I was moving 30m/s while in siege. It wasn't 90 deg deflection either, more like 20 degrees. He was webbed about 4x over and basically stationary too.Laughing

For someone in AHARM I am disappointed at your lack of knowledge about the game. Please have a look at a Kronos, Paladin, Vigilant, Vindicator, Ashimmu, etc.

Khaz is right. Sup AHARM :)

Confirming Dreads are a waste of time.
I mean who wants those extra 14 Bs spawns anyway?
Can't think of a single thing I would do with all that extra
isk.

But....given the right conditions, ships and pilots anything is possible. Right?

confirming that bringing in masses of capitals into a site is suicide, no matter the system.

Moros nerf ended all form of dread use in wormholes.

Dreads can still hit the BS's. I know this from personal experience and this is since the nerf.

web technic + painter can work.
but with armor fleet, coz web are med slot and ship with +50%on web are armor tank.
by example a Vigilant with
high: blaster/railgun ion or electron.
med: AB +3xweb 60%->90% (matar cruiserV)
low: 2x1600/2xeanmT2/explosive hardener/DC2,
rig: current router/resistEM/resistthermal.

with small signature of cruiser 75%allresist and 13k armor +AB, you have similary performacne of tech3. no problem for tank.

you can web at 98% of his speed a bs sleeper wich orbit to 30-45km at 10m/s, and if he's painted also 1000m+ of signature..its a pretty good target for dread no?

so for first wave, carrier+ 6+people fleet , and dread for 2nd wave -idea is to have wave one after the other).
, if it work well, add more capital for anotehrs waves :D
The objective is to profit a maximum from few sites in your a living w-space system.
have more tag and salvage, and more fun without be forced to farm adjacent wh.
