I'm liking the application so far, but I have one request.

Could you add a configuration setting to specify the API server to use?

So instead of it using the default http://api.eve-online.com I would like to use an API caching URL, like http://eveapiproxy.appspot.com

I have many apps that needs to pull API information and without using a caching API proxy they can't all share the same information due to the delays on certain calls.

See here for more information: http://wiki.eve-id.net/Eve_API_Proxy and http://code.google.com/p/eveapiproxy/

Nice app, now for some feedback. The very first thing I notice is that you don't poll corp orders and wallet data, only personal. I trade out of my corp wallet, is this something you're planning to add in the future?

@Dalden V
I figured this might come up at some point. But to give you a short awnser, yes, this feature is scheduled to be added! It shouldn't take very long to add it in there.

@Companion Qube
Indeed, I figured it would be better to put corporate imports off till it would be possible for users to mark certain transactions as "ignored", like in EVE Trader. So no worries, this feature is scheduled as well, but it's not top priority at the moment.

@Archeas
I have addressed the issue about knowing when the next imports will occur. In the new version of EveNexus 0.1.8.88, you'll find a tab called "Imports". Here you will find every running importer, when they've last been run, and when the next import will be.

Additionally there are some bugs fixed, most of which, have been submitted by people through EveNexus itself.

@Dalden V
The option to set your own api server has been implemented as well! This option is available as of version 0.1.9.89. It's available in the menu under "Application" -> "Settings" -> "API Server".

Thank you Manentia! The ISK is really appreciated!

The new version is out (EveNexus 0.1.10.93)! This new version has a few more bug fixes, which were reported by players. Thank you for your input! Additionally, this version includes a "minimize to tray" function. In stead of keeping the application open or minimized, it will now automatically minimizes to your tray bar. Keeping your task bar nice and tidy in the process.

As always feedback and bug reports are always welcome.

I'm sorry to hear about these problems. Is the installer giving you problems or is the application giving you problems? And are you able to run any other Java applications? If possible could you run the command "java -version" in the command line of Windows, and let me know what it says?

I second this problem reported by Dethmourne. I run on Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I've done what you suggested, and what showed up was "Java<TM> SE Runtime Environment <build 1.6.0_18-b07>".

I have the latest version of JRE, however when I attempt to install your program it tells me otherwise.

@Fiye Tao & Dethmourne Silvermane
I finally got it reproduced on a different computer. No worries, I believe I have fixed this now (in version 0.1.12.100). Please try that one.

This version also fixes a minor problem with importers refusing to run every hour.

So what ideas are on the drawing board at the moment?
* Expand and improve the graphs (people would like to see more data, drill-downs etc).
* Be able to import corporate transactions / orders / journals.
* The ability to ignore transactions (ie. I bought that Titan because I could).
* Be able to see an overview of your assets (and their value).
* Add NAV estimation to the graph. (How much do we grow over time?).
* Keep track of contracts (manually).

I've sorted these ideas based on my views from most important to least important. I would like to know which ideas are most favored by the users. So speak up.

I would like to be able to "filter" by character/item type/date range/etc... for both the graphing component and table view. The more versatility the better, especially when dealing with multiple characters.

I am not home to test this yet, but wud love to know if you have made a screen to show "overall profit" like

425mm railguns, 42 bought at 10m, 36 sold at 50m, 5 in inventory, 5 in open buy orders, total profit so far 8m

this would awesome as an overview, it would also be nice if the app could show a list of old products, that you currently do not have open buy orders for, that also shows the amount you currently have in your assets in stock, and those currently on sale.

These 2 overviews would be wicked
A. for judging at a glance where our best profits are coming from and where we have good turnover,

and

B. helpful to keep track of which items we need to reopen buy orders for to restock our supply.

Well so far I love Eve Nexus I do have a few suggestions that I would really love to see put in.

An option to switch the line graph to a vertical bar graph or even a pie chart.

Also on the graph page I would love to be able to view all my individual items total profits in a vertical bar graph in 24 hour, 7 day, 14 day and 30 day format.

This feature would make it much easier to see what items are making the most overall profit.

I have found a few bugs with Eve Nexus the first being sometimes the problem simple won’t start up more than once.

In order for it to restart I need to restart my computer then it works fine.

Also it likes to crash when you switch from say 24 hour profit view to 7 day profit view. I am running windows 7 professional 64b.

Please keep up the good work this program is going places.

Apologies for the absence,

From the latest posts it's fairly obvious that the users would like more graphing and filtering capabilities, so those will be top priority for now.

@Business Bunny
Could you please tell me what version you are running? I've changed the shutdown of the program because sometimes it wouldn't shutdown for some reason. I thought I fixed it but I'd like to make sure. So could you let me know?

The latter bug is unknown to me (as of yet), but I'll try to reproduce the error.

Looks interesting, may try this. But have a possible Java conflict.

Have you tried it on latest Java 1.5 instead of Java (1.)6?

I have to stay to the older version for now, due to some important work applications that do not run at all under 6.

@Business Bunny
That's good news :). I'm glad that's working.

@Alain Kinsella
The program and it's libraries are not limited to Java 1.6. So I reckon I could drop the required version to 1.5, if it works. I'll probably try this out with the next release, so stay tuned.

Love the proggie, so thanks for that.

I do have a question: What exactly does the profit tab show?

I have a lot of stuff there that shows zero quantity and thus zero profit, also when I compare that tab to Transactions, a lot of the sales seen there are missing from the profit tab.

PS. It is scary that I like the excel-side of EVE this much, all this trading info is way too interesting for me. Razz

@Viera Juk
Admittedly this tab can be a bit confusing. But it shows the profit for every transaction. EveNexus matches buy and sell transactions for all items. From that it will calculate taxes and profits. If you're missing some profits listed, it's probably because EveNexus is missing the buy transaction (CCP only allows programs to look back by a maximum of 7 days). And if you've just installed EveNexus, and that buy order happened 9 days ago, EveNexus won't know about it, and will assume there was no profit generated.

In a future release, I want to include asset tracking (and calculate NAV). This should fix the problem because I could estimate the value of the item, and calculate a profit from that. But that's something for later.

But to recap: This behavior is expected. However keep using it and as EveNexus tracks your transactions, it becomes more accurate in listing profits.

Thanks, tracking buy/sell seems like a good idea, which also clear a whole lot of things up about the software. I've manufactured a lot of stuff that I sell, so that will also show up as "no profit" I take it.

Thanks again for a good proggie.

hi

thanks for this, only been playing with it for an hour or 2, but there is something that i feel its missing, is it possible to have a choice to filter station for items that have been sold/purchased instead of just items and price.

also the market orders tab is blank even though i have (at this post) abot 100 or so orders on market, according to the api page it downloaded about 50mins ago and no probs.

any help appreciated.

cheers

edit

ahh i think the market orders aint filling because i also have evemon running which now pulls market orders :(..

@Viera Juk
Yes indeed. Items that (to EveNexus) seem to appear out of nowhere will show no profit.

@Quazal Atreides
Yes, if timed unfortunately EveNexus will not be able to request the orders, if EveMon already has. You could perhaps run a EVE API proxy.

The mentioned filters are scheduled for the next big release, so keep looking here...

Nice app. I'm also a bit confuzzled by the Profit tab though. Could you change the calc so that if it's not aware of a buy order for the sale, it shows as 100% profit, rather than a loss?

Loving it so far. What I'd like to suggest for future versions would be a breakdown of the average profitability(?) of each item instead of every single transaction in a given time period.
The second thing is maybe a bit far fetched, but it would be really neat to set up "projects" involving specific items in a specific time frame. Once the project is closed, the data would be displayable in various forms for future reference.

@Skavirr
Hmmm, I never really intended for EveNexus to work that way. But maybe, in the future I could think of a solution for this. It's not going to be in it soon though.

@Mory Monet
The next version will allow users to create their own reports and filters to their liking. I think this will make a lot of people happy, especially since no other tool out there does this right now. You could graph profitability per item then (for instance).

The project suggestion is very nice, but I think EveNexus isn't mature enough for this yet. There are a lot more pressing feature requests meanwhile. But by all means keep those ideas coming.

@J'J'J'Jita
The next big release will hopefully be done in 6 weeks or so from now, but please don't hold me to that. As for change logs, nope sorry. I have not kept track of those. Your best bet is probably this thread, as I notified users of bug fixes and new features here. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I am however heading into my exam weeks, so I development will halt for the next 3 weeks or so.

I have a question, under the transaction tab there is a tax column you can enable to view taxes. How is that tax calculated because I can't for the life of me figure it out. For example I bought 40 150mm Autos for 525,000 = 21M but according to EveNexus there was a tax of $189,000. I even divided the tax by 40 and still couldn't find where that tax came from.

If you bought something, only the broker fees would be applied. The formula that is used by EveNexus can be found on EVEDev. Assuming you have no standings with the faction or corporation, I would say that your Broker Relation is trained to level 2, based on the info you gave me.

Thank you for the prompt answer. I have another quick one, why doesn't the $189.000 show up in either my wallet's journal or transaction tabs or if it is there where can I find it? According to my wallet there were no broker fees I could see that correspond with the time I purchased the 150mm. I do see the 21M coming out of my balance but it was exactly 21M as my balance reflected that amount exactly. Sorry for the noobish question Embarassed
