What I would like to know is how Jita fared..

And whats the current record? 1400 players seems quite a lot..

I was there a minute ago I think it was around 1,700 or something, tad laggy but fine.

*Edit 1400

Yes, it's the current limit. Smile

We have been increasing the limit in the last few weeks and it looks like there might possibly be room for more in Jita.

Well I certainly wouldn't say Jita is running like a charm. It might have 1400 people in it, but I'm still getting lag...
And Jita has a node to itself, where an entire 0.0 region might only have one node.

And... woot new record!

Yeah - congrats to jita where everyone can trade lagfree while 0.0 players are stuck on gates in reinforced nodes for 30 minutes, modules cycling for 60 minutes and grid loading takes enough time to get a pizza from the shop down the street.

Riiiiiiiiiiiight....cause we haven't had the entire "it's uneconomical to put every system on it's own node" discussion before. Or the "highsec is always busy and has stable traffic while 0.0 may see 1-2 for a few weeks and then a 500+ spike that isn't planned for" discussion. > _ >

Well, they are CCP hamsters; a pretty tough speices. And since they are also icelandic CCP hamsters and currently carrying all the 54.688 players on their back, it will hold! Cool

Cooling is also not an issue.

Grats CCP!

There is a limit on trial accounts online at the same time (I remember that, though i was on a trial almost 3 years ago), so there are not so many of them in that figure...

If he Jita record coincides with the pcu record then that means that 2.4990628514307134824440834686992 % of the player base was in jita at the time

and that Jita trafic would fit in roughly 41 nodes

No, the only limit is that you cannot be running a trial account and another account at the same time.

A question, if you would indulge me, but are the PCU numbers increasing at the same or similar rate as the number of total subscribers?

There was once a limit on concurrent trials - I think it was 2000, but I could be wrong. This is back in 2004/2005, though, so I can't speak to it's veracity now.

I also thought there used to be a limit as to how many trials were tied into total concurrent user figures, but that's all a bit fuzzy in the mists of time now and I could well be hallucinating.
