I have a suggestion for improving the directional scanner. Make it so that when you hold a certain key while in the solar system map, you can see a cone or sphere or half sphere of the scan area. This would help with quickly tracking down people and similar tasks.

a goddamn shortcut key for scan would help a lot too.

And add a warp to distance value with that as well. It would be nice to get a d-scan on a ship then be able to warp in on top of them without having to book mark them.

That's what probes are for, use the Dscan then probe in the area where you have figured them out to be.

Tried that already and it was still too far to fly manually without a bookmark.

So you tried probing and couldn't get a 100% fix so that you could warp in on them? You won't be getting a warp in from the Dscanner, that's for sure so I suggest you try harder next time.
