Any estimate on when you'll have the profit per item feature rolled out in this app? (sorry, hate to be a pest about it)
Several poasts ago I had mentioned that the best way to find that out right now using your app was to just look at a period and take your sells and subtract out buys. Then figure out tax and brokers fees from the journal.
The flaw in this is that during that period, you might have sold 300 units of an item, but only bought 290 units of that same item, thus throwing off your calculations giving you a bloated net profit. I think to correct this, you should only take 290 sell orders and 290 buy orders (of the same item, obviously) and calculate the difference that way. That brought my net profits down to a moar realistic number. Don't think it'll still give you accurate numbers though. Just an idea. Plus this might be tedious for traders that trade 100+ different items at a time. Works for me for now as I only deal with five or six things.
I started missioning again and the app is great for quickly summing up Agent rewards and bonuses for a period of time, plus bounties. |

I've started new thread in EVE Mentat google group to discuss profit calculation. Send your request to join the group, I'll accept soon. |

Everytime I run the API query (every 45 minutes or so) it downloads 2560 orders and catches up a few hours. Then when I log out for the night, all of that time spent not updating puts my range back even further.
I've made test build with possible fix and have sent link to you in game. Please test it an send me feedback. |

Well, this program certainly makes updating my market orders a whole lot faster. But tbh, that's about all I use it for. What I would love is a NAV guestimate option. |

I am really enjoying the program so far. The only things that are missing are the following:
1) Check value of items in hanger (either through buy transactions or current market value)
2) Profit per item a) profit each time a unit of that item is bought then sold b) profit from that item per day/week/month
Also, the total ISK in escrow (with margin trading) doesn't match the amount calculated by eve. I think your program just takes 23.5% (assuming margin trading V) of the total in buy orders. However, once orders get partially filled, your actual amount of ISK in escrow can go down to something like 10+%. I think this has to do with how the player with margin trading V is charged as orders are gradually filled. |

EVE Mentat calculates influence of margin trading skill correctly, but applies the same level of skill to all buy orders. So there can be the difference when you training marging trading skill and different parts of orders were set up with different skill level. |

No, I had margin trading V for a year. All data that mentat is using is within the last week.
EVE: Orders Remaining: 47 out of 109 max open orders Total in Escrow: 250,370,612.11 ISK (additional 1,390,077,958.21 ISK to cover) Base Broker Fee: 0.75% of order value Transaction Tax: 0.5% of sales value Sell Orders Total: 214,545,033.88 ISK Buy Orders Total: 1,640,448,570.32 ISK
Mentat:
sell orders: 214,545,034 buy orders: 389,278,445

Yes, net asset value. EMMA, a program I still use but which doesn't receive updates anymore so it will prolly 'break' pretty soon, does this quite well for instance. Takes the value of your orders, wallet', contracts AND a guestimated value on the rest of your assets like ships, implants, modules etc. The hardest part would be to make a decent guestimate for stuff like faction modules, researched BPO/BPC's and stuff like that I guess. |

Nice idea in general, but requires implementation of asset manager in EVE Mentat. Added into database. |

Also, compliments on how EVE-mentat looks. Using it, I get the feeling I'm working with pro-software, not someones personal hobby project who is good at programming but bad at designing a decent user interface. I hope this tool will be around and updated for a long time. |

Do you really intend to load orders (not market!) via files? Ensure you have clicked export orders in game before import! I recommend you to use API import by default (can be configured in properties). Otherwise try to delete all contents from C:\Users\Xentarus\Documents\EVE\logs\Marketlogs and try again. In case of further problems please write a bug report with log file and screens. |

Edited by: Xentarus Maximus on 16/08/2011 10:52:33I watching the Video again and again, i do the same what you do. But my "Charakter Orders" Update don't work. I clear the Marketlog Folder and tested differend Options => don't work. I found a another Problem. The Market Browser Cache Import work not realy to 100%. Sometimes i can import after Browser Checking ingame only 3 from 20 Products. I can fix it with: 1. Market Browser => Cleanup => Cleanup all market date... 2. EvE Cache clearing 3. Run Ingame-Browser Checking und import again = it works! (And How to update the program correctly? ... i switch from EVE Mentat 1.1.22.693 to EVE Mentat 1.1.23.700 and i lose all my Tradinginformations :( ) = edit:// ok i can import the old database but can i delete the old EVE Mentat Folder after the import? |

Go to preferences (Preferences / Import) and set up default import source for character/corp orders to "Eve API". Originally by: Xentarus Maximus

EVE Mentat asks you what to do after the first launch. Select import database and choose path to old installation. Then you can delete old version. New version must have all trade information from previous version. |

Go to preferences (Preferences / Import) and set up default import source for character/corp orders to "Eve API".
I set up the Character/Corp orders to Eve API. I update the Market Data on the Tab "Market Browser" and than i change my Prices(Copy&Paste). I want check my new Prices but the red icons don't change. API import & File import don't work for me and yes i export on eve Wallet/order bevor i press the button ;) |

Take a look at Import preferences. There is possibility to set up orders file name pattern. In your case to "Meine Aufträge-*.txt" value. |

Hey, first off, great tool. On behalf of the community, thanks for creating.
Now I have a problem. Hypothetical scenario. I have a buy order in Ziona, range station, to buy Small Armor Repairer I. The tool shows me as the highest bidder, however, someone in Amarr had a higher bid with 5 system range. If i set the preference to region, all my orders turn red, but if i set it to system or station, it does not let me know that my order is infact outbid.
What can i do? |

For now EVE Mentat cannot calculate distances between solar systems and therefore unable to calculate correct status for buy orders. I hope it will be implemented in the next version of tool. |
