With the 1.1.20 update, I tried the multiple eve-install option for cache reading. If i have more than 1 directory listed, it fails to read the cache of any of them.

If only 1 dir is listed, it works fine.

With 4 valid dirs listed:

Thank you for report!

I suspect cache import tool erases previously extracted market files, so you able to import market only from the last client.

Will be fixed soon.

Hi quick question: Is it possible to export journal transactions to Excel, or even copy/paste them out?

Thanks!

Additionally, how far can EVE Mentat retrieve journal transactions from? I'm trying to import them from the EVE website but it's only giving me one day's worth and it's from 3 days ago!

I'm trying to use this app to find out my net profit for a given period of time for trading only. Right now, it says that my gross profit on Transactions is 1.5 billion, and it's showing a net loss on the Journal of about 4 billion. Any ideas on how to figure out net profit using this? I think I need to itemize each item (item sell - item buy - fees/taxes) but I'm not sure it can do it...

Ok, in the market thread, I was told to somehow find all of my items' sell price, deduct their buy price, tax, and brokers fee to obtain net profit.

I was looking at Mentat, and I noticed that for a given period of time I had 51.5 billion in sells, 50 billion in buys, for a gross profit of 1.5 billion. I used filter in the Transactions tab to get these figures.

Then I went over to the Journal tab and filtered out for Brokers fees (about 335 million) and also Taxes (another 350 million or so). Added those two up and deducted from gross to get a net of around 800 million.

Does that sound like a reasonable method to calculate net profit for trade activities? I just can't seem to figure out how to calculate each items buy/sell/tax/fees though...

No, it's upcoming feature.

Few weeks of journal and transactions.
But it's also limited by number of records. So if you are active trader and have a lot of transactions per day, then it's not possible to load more records for you.

It's rather workaround for profit calculation. I'm going to implement general and per item profit calculation soon.

Cannot do exact estimations. Hope in 1.2 or 1.3 version...

... and don't hesitate to raise feature development priorities with your donations ;)

I'd be the first to donate if you create a feature that tracks item profit/loss down to the cent, then adding it all up for a total profit/loss for any given period of time. There's no easy way of doing that right now.

I'm doing well with trade but have no idea how well. Sad

I moved a couple characters around between my accounts, is there any way to update their api info without having to delete them so I can keep the historical data? There seems to be no place to enter the account ID.

No, unfortunately.

If you are familiar with database editing tools you can try to edit database manually, for instance using sqliteman. Look at mentatCharacters table, find your character and update userID column.

But don't forget to backup your database before!

P.S. Contact me via e-mail (RL, not in game) if you can't do it yourself. I'll help.

Cache files are not updated if there were no changes in whole region since the last update. Such positions are marked as out of date in EVE Mentat.

Otherwise it's a bug.

If i copy the new price from an item, it has a dot (.) in it instead of a comma (,), so i cant paste it into my eve client.
is it possible to change this? (123,99 instead of 123.99)

Hm, does EVE client use regional settings for number representation?

I trade on 2 accounts on the same pc. I just fire up the eve client twice and alt-tab between them. Is EVE Mentat able to deal with that and still get the cache reading right?

Well, now that the API provides more than 1000 transactions at a time, it's not as important. But considering I'm not at my desktop 24/7, and I go through several thousand transactions a day (sometimes more than 1000 an hour) the API limit was causing the results to lag behind my actual wallet totals.

I still think auto-update would be useful, even if it's less necessary than before.

Actually, EVE Mentat can download up to few weeks of data using subsequent API calls (under single update operation). The same is for the journal. Let me know if this feature doesn't work.

According to Mentat (1.1.21.679) my last transaction was 7d1h ago. Considering I run through several thousand orders a day, I find that hard to believe. Everytime I run the API query (every 45 minutes or so) it downloads 2560 orders and catches up a few hours. Then when I log out for the night, all of that time spent not updating puts my range back even further.

I'm using it for a loong time. Aside from reporting anonymous usage information and update checking this tool is only connecting to EVE API server - and this can be verified by any user with computer knowledge just above average, by using some simple tools such as packet sniffer or any semi-advanced firewall capable of writing logs.

Are you just trying to troll? If not - please give us proofs about the things you are saying. Smile

Scan on virustotal.com shows no problems in all parts of this tool. So really looks like trolling or defamation.

Unfortunately, I have no such number of transactions on my test character. Anyway I'll investigate the issue this weekend.

Program is clear.

Anyone can test it with online security services. Maybe your AV have reported "false positive". Write here additional information on this issue.

By the way, I'm not russian.
