Watch tutorial videos Read help What is EVE Mentat trade tool?EVE Mentat is a handy trade tool for EVE Online. This tool helps your to track and manage your orders, wallet and transactions for your characters and corporations. The tool checks whether your orders are on top of the market or were beaten by rivals, helps you to analyze the market and find profitable positions, and gives you instruments to automate gathering of market information from EVE Online. http://www.evementat.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/evementat1.png Please visit your user settings to enable images. Will this trade tool be useful for me?The tool is extremely useful for the following EVE Online professions:
- Traders (including trade hub profiteers)
- Manufacturers who prefer to sell their goods themselves
- Agent runners and hunters who want to track the income from killing NPCs
- Corporate logists who want to track the total cost of purchased goods
- People who want to keep and analyze journal and transactions for a long period of time
This tool gives you control over hundreds of orders and thousands of market positions you are interested in. Gathering market information from EVE Online and managing your orders takes minutes instead of hours. How the tool worksEVE Mentat trade tool downloads character and corporation information via EVE Online API or reads it from EVE Online client’s cache. Downloaded order, transaction, journal and market information is stored in the EVE Mentat’s database and used to check your orders against the market. Read full description on the official site... Just took a quick look at your program. It seems rather useful! My only recommendation to see would be to incorporate retrieving market info from the Eve Cache. Libevecache is a great for doing so.
Thanks again for the great tool. Keep up the good work. |

It seems that market details don't work for items that contain an ' (apostrophe).
Apart from that, very nice. |

Thanks! Yes, I know about Libevecache, and going to use it among with eve-central import. It is just a start of the project. I have a lot of good ideas, and need time to implemet it. You can found a list of planned features here. |

I don't know real reason for this problem. I had such accident few month ago. Was fixed by the time :( In your case: 1. Check whether you entered valid FULL api key. 2. Check with other software. For instance - EVE Trader. 3. Check your API key at this page. 4. Contact EVE Online support. |

You definately should post an introductionary thread to your tool in the Market Discussion forum.
Check also out the sticky at the top of the MD forum and add your app to the EVElopedia article pointed in there. |

It looks really nice, but is there any way to have it show corp orders if you put a ceo api key in? |

Yes, you are right. But I have no time now... After a few releases I'll do it. Originally by: Mr Siman It looks really nice, but is there any way to have it show corp orders if you put a ceo api key in?
Sorry, program haven't such functionality. But this feature already requested and will be implemented soon. |

Good job so far! It seems this is still at early stage but its already promising. The user interface actually is usable (many other eve market software fails in this aspect).
Also the planned feature list contains somewhat all features I have dreamed of. I would pay hundreds of billions of isk for this thing (or even hundreds of billions real money if it was allowed)! |

Thanks for good words! Functionality and usability - are the basic principles in software for me. So I'm trying to follow them in my work. Of planned functionality... If you wish to speed up specific feature development, please send feature request via email. |

Yup. I don't have any specific feature reqest yet at this time. But what I would really like to see is the graph style tracking of profit per item/item group. Also it would be neat if it didn't only show the average buy/sell price. But also perhaps something like your personal doncian channel and your personal min and max buy/sell prices. It would allow to track price and margin fluctuations. Also is it possible to fetch price history data from cache files? Also there could be some warning indicator that alerts you if some specific order havent sold/bought anything for a while. So it would basically tell you its time to to update your order. Some filter for items that you have been clearly bought for own use, like a new ship? Maybe some alert if someone has crashed the market for specific item if its possible to implement? Yup and its always a good idea to give encouraging words for a developer that has managed to create some good stuffs. It is always possible that if everyone is like 'meh' it would disencourage the dev and he/she would discontinue the project. I hope you will have patience/motivation to keep developing this project! I don't want to blame other developers but with other eve market software usability and functionality don't usually mix. :( Well I think these feature requests were quite specific after all. :u BTW. For some reason the eve mentat stopped working on my computer (xp). I successfully ran it one time but now it won't display the program window anymore. It seems to load fine and it displays the tab in taskbar. Remove/reinstall didn't help. |

I've planned to implement graphical representation of statistics. Will try to implement features you wish. Originally by: Rabid cat Also is it possible to fetch price history data from cache files?
This is also planned. Originally by: Rabid cat Also there could be some warning indicator that alerts you if some specific order havent sold/bought anything for a while. So it would basically tell you its time to to update your order.
What about "trade speed" field for player orders? Originally by: Rabid cat Some filter for items that you have been clearly bought for own use, like a new ship?
Do you want to ignore some transactions? Such feature already was planned. Originally by: Rabid cat Maybe some alert if someone has crashed the market for specific item if its possible to implement?
I think planned feature "Dumping detector" will help you. I will try to be patient, and anybody welcome to make "in game motivation" for me ;) Originally by: Rabid cat BTW. For some reason the eve mentat stopped working on my computer (xp). At the first, try to right-click Mentat on the taskbar and use "Restore", "Maximize" or "Move" commands. Play with combinations. Or try to delete EVE Mentat configuration file placed in "EVE Mentat" folder in My Documents. Can tou explain exact steps to reproduce this bug? It would be good help for me. |

Right click task bar item and maximize helped. The 'bug' can be reproduced by minimizing the mentat and then rightclick taskbar item and close. Not really a big thing.
ok I'll send you some motivation. :) |

Very nice App. Though one suggestion:
For the Cost price, make it an option to set it as the weighted average of the buy orders for the item instead of just one price? DId not see that unless I am just being stupid :) |

Very nice tool!
Just one thing I can't get to work: the Orders. I get the error (via API): "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".
An import/export feature using information from excell would be nice (with the same data as the API), as I would love to be able to enter my previous transactions that are not kept by the api anymore. |

Sometimes this error happens for some orders but I've not caught a bug, because cannot reproduce it :( Please send me your orders exported via file. I'll examine it for buggy item types or locations. Of export\import: I've already planned such features. |

I would like to see this implemented first:
Some kind of portfolio page that contains the items you usually trade:
It should display your 5d/10d/15/etc min/max and average buy/sell price for each item or item category.
It should be possible to sort items by category/system.
It should display how many of each item have you sold and profit margin and profit amount and turnovers and all that stuff.
It should alert you if you don't currently have any buy orders for some of you favourite items.
Also it should display some how long ago you sold/got something from each order.
I think that with these features mentat would be already much better than any currently available trading tool.
Also these features shouldnt require implementing any graph engines or evecentral or cache data fetching.
After that I would like to see some price(cycling) tracking features that shows the the price graphs and it would be neat if you could overlay for example dodixie and villore prices for civilian gatling gun for example.
And also market crashing alert!
