You know, reproduce is different from seeing that the bug exist.

The best way to help is to run logserver before doing the anomalies and sending a bugreport with the logfile every time a anomaly get struck.

Use the "Server mode (100.000)" so you get several manageable files instead of one single, huge, file.

Doing it this way you get a good chance of showing the bughunters what has gone wrong.

If they can find that they can "cure" it, but as long as it is "something is broken in the despawn process" they will search in a huge lumber of program lines without a good idea of what can be the problem.

whole P6N8-J is bugged, most Systems have 12-20 anomalies, everyone bugged, now even after the dt they dont de- and respawn.. and our hidden belts also dont fill up.. or even move.. its always the same since we installed the upgrade -.-

If your car or TV breaks down you send it back to the manufacturer and get it fixed (so long its under warranty).

EVE is broken, people are asking for it fixed, nothing wrong with that. If your unlucky enough to live in a time zone that cant get on right after downtime you have no hope of finding anomalies to run.

It takes about 4 hours currently for every anomaly in our system to 'break' and refuse to despawn. Leaving the system with 20 empty anomalies.

.. and yes many petitions/bug reports have been filed.

I agree fully with you, but i dont "aprove" of the way people present the problem.
How can anyone presume CCP knows about it, but do anything to fix it? It's just plain stupid to say that. Of course CCP is doing everything they can to fix this (and other issues).

It is a huge difference in letting CCP know it is a problem, apose to act like a raving maniac on a forum. There is absolutely no need (whatsoever) for using foul language and verbal abuse.

Grow up.. CCP is not ure mom making ure lunch the wrong way. Try acting like adults and give them constructive criticism instead. There is nothing to gain by calling them names.

If they would hop in one of their invuln. ships and go to various null sec alliance systems they could run their own dam log servers. I pay to play a game... not to be a mechanic. CCP is duly notified about a widely occurring problem that has been around for years. Now that the amount of anomalies has been increased, the problem is glaring.
If the problem was specific to me I would be more inclined to submit more data. With CA's the data is readily available if CCP just does their job.

because the same problem has been around since anoms were put in game and ccp said they would fix it ages ago. I'd say it was mostly fixed for a while, but seems they broke it recently.

I think I know whats causing this anomalie bug. After we installed another upgrade in system (mining upgrade) all the anomalies were bugged. Before the mining upgrade was installed all anomalies were woking as intended.

..would be cool if more people could test this.

System A: No TCU, No Hub, No Upgrades - Anoms/Sigs are hosed.
System B: Yes TCU, Yes Hub, No Upgrades - Anoms/Sigs are hosed.
System C: Yes TCU, Yes Hub, Yes Military Upgrades, No Industry Upgrades - Anoms/Sigs are hosed.
System D: Yes TCU, Yes Hub, Yes Military and Industry Upgrades - Anoms/Sigs are hosed.

End conclusion: Anoms/Sigs are hosed.

Any updates from CCP on this issue, or is it still "being looked at"?

We are aware of this issue, and it's a high priority. We have, however, had problems in reproducing it on our internal servers. If you notice any of these things, create a bug report immediately, note down the name of the sites, your location and so forth. That will help our testers getting it confirmed and fixed sooner.

As I said, this is considered a high priority and we are investigating it as we speak and as soon as we have a fix for it, it will be deployed on TQ.

Edit: Billions not millions ^^;

No mention of a fix yet in the 1.0.2?

Ima just join highsec with a fully faction golem, and sit there doing missions, 11% tax, pft whats that compaired to millions on system upgrades that dont work....

Well, it was fixed the day before the Dominion.2 patch came along, then it seems to have broken again. I think its the altering sovereignty that has stopped completed sites from despawning.

Can we get a ETA or any indication that CCP is acknowledging that they are looking into this issue?? My alliance took down the upgrades and now I am relegated to mission running in empire space to make ISK. I thought I was going to be able to leave empire space completely when it comes to making ISK with my ship but apparently the giant pile of FAIL which is the new sov system and the yet to be materialized "upgrades" have squashed that idea.

We have our first report of a despawning site, it despawned after out guy warped out and came back to loot wrecks. We are looking to see if this was an isolated indecent or not. Anyone else able to confirm?

Edit-That is 3 seperate despawns in our system. Can anyone else confirm

Edit again- Seems that some sits are despawning, but the majority are not. This might have just been a false alarm.

Yeah this seems to be the case, after DT or a server crash when/if they all refresh. It can take a little while for them to stop despawning again, but once they get stuck they stay that way, eventually ending up with a system of empty anomalies.

People who get on straight after DT are the lucky ones. Mining is the most annoying, it took us a week to get up to level 3, now its dropping rapidly because there is no ore to mine.

Wouldn't it be prudent to at least disable sovereignty degradation at least until you find the source of the issue?

That way the people who're getting circle jerked by not enough activity because there's nothing to be had would feel like you're throwing them a bone of sorts.

Just an idea.

hey hey 17/17 anomolies currently failing to despawn :/

i managed to despawn a couple of the initial set by killing structures in some plexes and they despawned after warp outs.

im wondering if theres a difference between Large Collidable Object, Large Collidable structure, Large destructible . . etc etc which is still counting towards the plex content being active.

what would be good is if CCP actually stated the actual despawn mechanics as its not clear as to what content needs to be cleared before a instant despawn happens.

afaik . . .

it was supposed to be the first DT after 72hrs when the sites/anoms/plex gets activated for a site to be despawned should content be abandoned. but with the new "instant" respawns anomolies the active despan mechanics dont seem to be working :/

Hey mate... I think you should take one thing into consideration... many of these people have been reporting this problem from LONG before the patch was released.... it's not an issue of letting CCP know the problem exists... it's an issue that they already knew and pushed the known problems out into production anyway. CCP is receiving some heat because they have ignored player input... is it any wonder that players who have been ignored, respond as if they've been ignored?

You should also take into consideration that this is occurring in a context. It's not exactly the first time this sort of bug, known about ahead of time, has existed and been ignored by CCP, and had significant ramifications to the game. I agree with you that constructive criticism is far better, however I have to acknowledge, that CCP earns at least a bit of the heat that they get. When players have offered constructive criticism, and been consistently ignored, even when it involves game breaking types of problems, it's hardly surprising that the criticism becomes a bit less constructive.

There was reply yesterday from one of the MM guys in similar thread in test server feedback section, who apparently had response to his petition informing that they are working on it as hard as they can and plan to relase fix attempt in 1 - 2 days (it today or tomorrow then).

Actually in 1.0.2 patch it got a bit better but the anomalies are still failing one after another even if first few waves despawn properly, as as soon as one of em flips it's one less in the system and you can hammer the remainig ones until those also fail eventually.

I sure hope they get it fixsed soon, as as a result of dominion alliance mobilization you see pilot consentrations approx 20 per system that are getting increasingly fustrated. I would speculate, that if it's still bugged by the weekend those pilots will start really moving back into empire to L4 missions.

And then they discover that the invulnerable ship don't trigger the bug but it is something related to how the NPC deal and receive damage;

or it is related on how you enter the site and kill the spawns and happen 1 time in 10 when you warp in with a BS from a specific angle

or depend on how fast you kill and spawn the NPC

or .... (add your wild guess)

10 bughunters (or whatever is the number of people doing this) can't test 100.000 different combinations of events as fast as 10.000 players.

If the players aren't willing to help they can't protest because the process is slow.

Different anomalies and exploration sites have different completion triggers. So there is not a single way to complete all of them.

You last point is fairly important, if that mechanism is broken for regular (not upgrades generated) anomalies it can be an indication of where the program is broken.

which is totally where i draw the line at being a bug hunter for a game i play and not a company i work for :/

not knowing if something is by design or not makes this whole process difficult. im stunned that CCP and their BH team on SISI are using jedi/ninja/dev powers to spawn each site then running it normally and seeing if it then despawns. im not running anomolies to bug hunt them FFS.

despawn mechanics are a total nightmare to work with when doing it completely blind.

on a side note with the ****ty grav sites supposed to give miners something to chew on as a benefit of indexcarebearingempire***gotrygrindage bollox grav sites need to despawn alot differently as you will end up with sites filled with the remaining basic ores )that you get int he belts and noone mines !! ) while waiting for the sites to despawn . . . whihc drops the index due to inactivity :/

Like I'm going to start warping in and testing out your theory. there are enough of the same named anomaly's that I seriously do not think what angle you warp in from has any meaning.

Which are what the games employees are paid to find. If you want to bug hunt the issue that is your prerogative. Anomalies were to be a big part of the new sov scheme, as such they should of been tested better.
