pay the bill or stfu.

unless ccp is getting paid, you aren't a customer. the fact that account time ran out means you aren't a customer until you pay again.

Guys guys, I didn't pay my electric bill and they shut off my electricity. How unfair is that?

I don't think most of you actually understand what I'm trying to get at...

I object to allowing people to automatically take money from my bank account, I think anyone who does this is deranged.

I have accepted that sometimes i try to login to the game and it says your account has expired please pay.

I accept that if my PC crashes and between the time i last logged in and the reboot my account runs out i cant login.

I object to getting a box telling me i am about to be disconnected from the server because apparently i'm a few seconds over my subscription.

Lets scale this up a little,
Combat;
Goon's cyno 20 titans on top of a IT dread fleet.
Apparently all the goon accounts run out at the same time.
IT get 20 titan kills while goons are trying to put a payment through.

This is making it dangerous not to subscribe, but why should people be forced to setup regular arrangements to allow companies direct access to their funds?

CCP have made an important choice with this small change.

No longer is the focus of the company to make an awesome game that lots of people can enjoy. It is moving towards lets see how much money we can make out of this enterprise.
And though many of you may think "well why not" I see this as step 1, how far down the road is it going to be before CCP start selling isk to the players...

Any step that moves the focus away from player experience toward commercial exploitation can only end badly.

Scale it back down. This is game. IT vs Goons unimportant to RL income.

This is making it dangerous not to subscribe, but why should people be forced to setup regular arrangements to allow companies direct access to their funds? There are other options. use them and pay your bills.

Why should companies allow access to their service w/o being paid Question

I do pay them, every 3 months for the last 4 or so years.

I'm sorry if CCP feel cheated if I get 2 hours of unpaid for game play 0.0009%

For those of you pay yearly, watch out in the agreement it clearly states CCP can cease service anytime and are not obliged to offer refunds.

CCP is not responsible for your mistakes. You need to pay to play. If you forget to pay, don't expect to be able to play.

Do you complain when you lose a pod and just because this one time you forgot to update your clone?
Do you complain when you forget to insure your ship but you usually remember?
Do you complain when you forget ammo and were not able to kill anything, but you usually have ammo?

You can not say you were not warned, there is now a warning on the log-in screen when your account is about to go inactive.

You need to own up to your mistakes. This was one of them.

This will teach you to pay your bill.

Welcome to the new millennium, get them to auto withdraw form your account like everyone else in the world does. That, or... if you're resourceful, you can go farm up ~350,000,000 ISK for s PLEX on the Market. IMO, buy one and keep it for an emergency. This is called planning ahead and covering your ass.

I may be new to this game, but how stupid do you have to be to not know that your meter is running out? It's not hard to check your account page on this site.

"OHH MAN! I DIDN'T PAY MY BILL... BUT IT'S YOUR FAULT!"

WoW isn't even this carebear.

The bandwagoning effect is strong in this thread.

The guy makes a perfectly reasonable request for the warning to be a bit longer than 60 seconds, something very easy to implement which makes the service a little more manageable, and all these nutcases come out of the wood work.

The reflexive nonsense on these forums can be disturbingly predictable sometimes.

Simply enough, CCP can and will do what they want within their game. The OP can whine all he wants but I highly doubt CCP will all the sudden make it an hour timer, or maybe a timer that goes until DT...

Anyhow, its not CCPs responsibility to hold your hand. Like others have said do Electric companies or others let you get service for free?

You should be glad they gave you 60 seconds to pull in drones and such, what prevents them from simply just instantly kicking you?

The bandwagon can be said for you and everyone who agrees with the OP.

I think it's re tarded that you don't know you're account is going to expire. This has nothing do do with CCP, it has to do with some guy who forgot to pay his bill.

If he doesn't like them taking from his accout, good, have a plex or time card ready to pay when the bill is due. You know when your time is close to it's end, maybe a little preperation before hand would have solved this drama. Like, get a time card and add it to the account early?

Would you undock a ship without it being fit? Even better, without insurance?

Don't undock if you're about to run out of game time. That simple.

They give WAY MORE THAN ENOUGH warning

Any tard with enough sense to type their name can log into account click on subscription details and you get this nice lovely screen that says.

Remaining Playtime: 18d:8h:14m
(mine as example)

that is not enough warning?

Agreed, if only there were a screen that you had to go through to enter the game that warned you of these situations... Of course you could proabaly still click throught that screen without reading a word it says. Rolling Eyes

To the topicstarter:

You know, it can be even worse.
Assume you pay for each year and during the last year, your creditcard changes and the old one isnt valid anymore.
What happens then with your eve account is: Your account get blocked and you need to contact support.....

Not kidding, 1 failed attemtp to pay a annual subscription and if it fails due to old creditcard, you dont even get the chance to update your creditcard information.

Luckily there is a bypass in this: you tell the system, you lost your password and it will reset it, then with new password you can login, update the creditcard and finally pay the account again.

Worst subscription support, that is possible in mmo.

Sometimes its to do with your bank.

Other times, something's gone odd on CCP's end.

The reason people so often get lousy customer service is because so often, they tolerate it and make excuses for it, and even justify it.

I agree, 60 seconds is hardly enough of a warning. Perhaps that would be why the warning on the login screen appears FIVE DAYS before your account is due to expire.

I'm new to the game, and I too was booted without notice because my membership was up, but I'm not sure if it was pass due. Anyway, I thought that it was heartless of ccp to just cut me off without notice, so I opened 2 alts and subscribed to eon's full magazine subscription, this game is like crack and I need it 24x7 Twisted Evil

And if the OP had been paying attention he would have noticed the warning they have added to the character select screen.

Uh, no. You don't pay your electric bill, the electric company sends you a notice, then another and a final notice, then they cut your electricity.

And the auto-gas analogy is right own. CCP kicking you out of the game at the instant they say you're out of go-juice is BS. They should do it like any other service provider in the world and do it at the end of their operational day which is downtime or at the least just not let you log in again. What CCP is doing would be likened to your low gas light coming on. The car immediately stops. The door opens and a mechanical foot kicks your butt onto the street and the car drives itself off leaving you stranded.

You people who think "people need to learn to think ahead", I agree. But jesus christ, we're not ****ing machines. We make mistakes and some days just don't pay attention. Besides, I seriously doubt not one of you people can tell me on what day at what time, down to the second your Eve subscription will run out. Un-****ing-believable.
