Hmm, this is not good. Maybe someone can help me out.

Is there a way to install this patch without admin rights? The permissions on my computer have been changed by a certain miserable bastard. I did not have problems with previous small patches but this one will not start downloading without the admin logging in.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure some of you are PC tech wizards.

Ok - REALLY confused about how you guys are managing to log in when singularity is "Not accepting connections to the cluster"

Are you logging into the actual Tranquility?

Generally, I'm wondering about the mechanisms that make people become addicted to one thing or another. I've seen some really disturbing pieces of replies here in this thread.
Anyway, I will most probably not join the EVE circus for the next few hours at least; reason? For starters, my addiction level is not that great (I like EVE but can do very well without), and second, I am aware that first few hours will be very busy with everybody logging in, patching, restarting and so on. This will put a lot of extra strain on the cluster and will bring down gaming experience and level of enjoyment. It's the same reason why I don't go to malls on their opening days. Too crowded :)
Anyway, good luck with gaming, I am looking forward to see how scenery changed (it was about time to have better planet textures at least).

anyone know where the patch is downloaded to? By that I mean the path of the file that can be located. I don't want to be downloading this multiple times.

I already download it once but can't find the source folder.

Can someone please tell me where it is?

Thanks so much

It was working just fine for about 20 minutes, and then crash, no more game.

Now it won't even load the mac client to log-in screen. Rebooting some servers, perhaps?

Disable the checkbox on the end that says "Remove downloaded data". That should allow you to install the patch multiple times from the same download. If you don't want to risk that, download the fallback patch (linked in the usual left menu here). That includes the downloaded data as well and is guaranteed to work.

To everyone having PATCH verification errors or speed issues:
(not errors while patching, but while extracing the patch after downloading)

Your download got corrupted somehow. Try re-downloading the normal patch or download the official or unoffical torrent since that has piece hashing built into it.

I did uncheck the box but I still can't find it. Well I have eve installed on other systems so I want to move the patch file to another system. But if this doesn't work. O well.

My download is so slow

I am getting 25 Kb/s using direct download.
If I am using auto update it reports 255 Kb/s speed but in reality it transfers 1Mb in 10-15 mins.
Is there a regular torrent download for this

Well it's not about serious gamers. I'm a serious gamer as well, I like to play EVE for over 10h at a time when I afford to, but going to seizure if unable to play for 1 day is beyond my comprehension. Thank God for that :)
People, life is big and has many opportunities. Seize as many as you can before it's too late. e.g. you will have a plethora of problems hiking when you're 60 or so :)

3rd times was a charm. I had throttled my download down to only 256 kbps and it seemed to resolve the issue.

Most people here, as myself, joke about the addictevness. ^^
I work and have a life, like the vast majority here, still, i complain about patch day and stuff ^^
