I wouldnt bother trying to patch early tbh, you will be lucky to get a clean patch with a very good chance of having to wipe eve from your machine and waiting for bugs to be ironed out before doing a whole complete re-install again.

Personaly, Ill be waiting till tomorrow before attempting. Auto patching can be hit and miss too if your to eager.

Greenwich Time / Zulu Time / UTC

Greenwich mean time (GMT)

Definition

Mean solar time at the village of Greenwich near London which, as decided at the International Meridian Congress of 1884, is assigned 0 degrees longitude (called Prime Meridian). Because it is based on the Earth's rotation (which is irregular) it actually follows a fictitious Mean Sun that moves at a uniform speed along the equator. A 19th century worldwide time standard, it was replaced in 1970 by the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) for astronomical and navigational use, but is still in common use by airlines and radio and television stations. When expressed in terms of a 24-hour clock, GMT is also called universal time (UT or Z). It is five hours ahead of the US Eastern Standard Time (EST) during standard period, and four hours ahead during daylight-saving period.

This is a joke, right? You can't possibly be that daft, can you?

I think this is far superior than the spammers who surprisingly keep friggin asking "Is it up yet" (Even in posts to follow the one I'm quoting and am sure to follow this) Wow, can't find the seconds to think for yourself. Oh, here's a news flash, in the time it took you to LOG IN to the forum, find the thread, hit reply, type and press submit, you could had already found for yourself.

Thinking: try it out sometime.

Nav you big hunk of burning love,

You're still missing patch notes for the Projectile ammo changes, the capital weapon changes (other than the Citadel Cruise addition) & the moros drone bonus in siege (unless that got binned along with the rest of Abathurs excellent changes). Maybe the 5 minute Triage timer as well, but not tested if that was on sisi for ages.

Also feel free to cross out that Naglfar change, because seriously dude it's rubbbbbbish Crying or Very sad

Max Cool

A couple of hours till deployment and we're still missing the above, what's going on with these changes? Yes? No? Maybe?

These two questions may be stupid, but hey if i dont ask i will keep wondering,

1.Will there be blueprints released for the new stuctures used in claiming sov over a system?

2. Will doing an Epic Arc for the angel cartel lower the liklyness of Cartel rats (in belts) being aggresive to you?
If not, why not?

Player owned wrecks can now be marked as "available for all", which allows everybody to take from them without causing aggression.

So? No more will mission runners have to worry about getting shot up in missions?
Do remember that there was a certian class of pirates that went in to other players missions just to grief the dumb enough carebear, if given the choice to do so!
Where is the choice now? This option removes a pretty nice sub pirating profession from Eve...
This also applies to ratters and miners in belts... they only have to worry about aggression coming from their cans being flipped...

Before hand, the pirate took the wreck and it was up to the runner/ratter/miner to choose to continue or fire upon the thief... heck, you might as well add this "option" to cans aswell, lets do away with can and wreck aggression altogether where the only combat happens in low sec/0.0 and with wardecs only in high sec >.<

Why is everyone so hostile? I don't get it.

But it does fill this forum with unnecessary negativity, and forces everyone else to sift through irrelevant posts (like this one) to find the information they're looking for.

I'm sure wee all agree, so no need to respond to this - let's just relax and enjoy the anticipation - and maybe focus on Dominion.

By the way - patch is downloadable, now.

No, sorry you're wrong. .05 is a larger amount or number than .01 no matter how you look at it. It went from 1/100th cubic meter to 5/100 cubic meter. So, it is 5 times bigger.

Maybe they meant to state it went from 0.01 to 0.005 which would halve the size.

Yes, that's a reduction. It is 1/5th the size now.

What does this line mean?

After you have probed down a cosmic signature to 100% strength, it is now possible to warp to it with less than 3 probes without throwing an exception.

To probe it down, you need 4 probes. If you've only got 3, you can't get a warpable hit, so how does this exception ever arise in the first place?

Once, the site has been probed down, if you pull a probe back into your bay you might only have a couple (or none) still in space. I usually just bookmark it right away and then just warp to my bookmark at whatever range.

Works a lot better if you read the full patch notes for that out-of-context quote:

Faction and Navy ships have been revamped. For details see CCP Ytterbium’s blog Adding flavour to your faction meal .Ships that are in space, in a station (either active or in the hanger), or stored in a Ship Maintenance Array structure will have their modules moved to their cargo hold. Ships that are stored in a Ship Maintenance Bay aboard a carrier will have their modules removed to the carrier's cargo hold.

I did read full patch notes, notice that my quote has more included in it than the "out of context quote". I didn't think the first part "faction and navy ships..." were important for understanding the meaning.

Edit: ok, I think I finally found the reference, this is just talking about moving items to your cargo hold during deployment of the patch, and not during regular gameplay? The devblog doesn't explicitly state anything, just that it's recommended you dock incase stuff is moved to your cargohold. I now see this, but it isn't like it's an obvious point that was made.

Is it so hard to say that its going going to occur once during deployment instead of just quoting stuff back to people?

The left out parts are the most important. They're saying that those faction ships that are being revamped are going to have their fittings stripped and placed in their cargoholds. They put the part about being in a carrier's ship MX bay so that people wouldn't try to cheat and keep their fits on anyway.

Opinion on your part. Experience on mine. Since I have run Vista and Windows 7 on multiple machines. All with Eve running fine on all of them. So I would say that your opinion is wrong. :D

I've extensively multi cliented eve on XP, Vista and now Windows 7. They have all worked well. Or is it just that I build good machines with non shoddy hardware, and don't update to an OS till I know it is 100% stable on said machine?

I would have to agree. I run two win7 pro machines and on the main I generally have 3 clients running on two monitors with max resolution and max graphics with no lag. If I play all day I will start having client bugs but all I have to do is restart the clients, not the whole PC. Turning off caching on all the clients helps keep it down to a minimum. The machines aren't anything special either. One has a dual core 2.6GHz intel with 4GB of RAM and a 8800GTS and the other has a 2.6GHz AMD X2 with 6GB and a GTS250.

If I run 4 clients on the main with graphics maxed then I get some chop. Part of the reason I love Eve. I don't have to drop a couple hundred dollars every expansion just to keep up.

There's something to be said about building your own PC and doing it right. PCs are like dogs. Bad behavior is usually the owners fault. Laughing
