Once you become a CCP employee your accounts and characters are set to an audited state. They can play, but most of the time the whole big brother element causes them not to, also the more you work on something the less you want to really play it. If you read Devs that discuss mechanics etc from personal experience, they will always talk about before they became part of CCP.

Perhaps it is our own interest in employees being so closely monitored that has resulted in CCP really losing touch with their player base.

So tl;dr, they might play but I doubt any play in more than noobships to go check stuff out.
