To be honest, I love the Taranis over the Ishkur for pvp because you can get some nasty DPS and you can run away easily. On the other hand it sucks for pve as it cant tank much. If you plan on doing missons or killing rats i'd use the Ishkur.

For PvE, Ishkur anyday.

For PvP, an Ishkur would win in a fight against a Taranis, but I prefer the taranis for its speed and agility over the Ishkur (which flies more like a cruiser).

Both are very good. Personally though, I'd feel safer in a Taranis for PvP than in the Ishkur. Actually, You'd likely be used for tackle duty more than anything else while your friend pounds away. So I'd take the Ares for its superior Tackle performance.

The Ares is fast and has a 31k lock range and 30K disruptor range. You can orbit at high speeds keeping a point on target and staying out of danger. You wont do any damage or very little anyway, but with a sensor booster equipped, you can lock a frig in a 1 second which can even catch some before they can cloak. Not much is going to get away from you while your friend rips it apart.

For PvE stuff, definetly the Ishkur though. Excellent DPS for a frig, and durability to boot.
If you like frigates, there is no reason why you shouldn't train to fly both the Interceptors and the Assaults.
