Wtf are those t2 rigs for anyway. You can only fit one on any given ship, which means you are always better of puting 2 t1 versions. Lower the calibration to 200 or remove them completly from the game, in the actual state they are absolutly useless!

it's still better to use 2 T1 instead of 1 T2.

t2 ships have 400 calibration, so its still useless

Gravity Capacitor II + Low Friction Nozzle Joints II or Hyperspatial Velocity thingy II on a Cov Ops perhaps?

There are applications where it offers better results than T1 and where calibration is not that much of an issue. And particularly in the T2 ships, where rigslots are really at a premium, the higher "costs" of the T2 rigs are outweighed by their performance gain. In the example above the option of using 2 T1 Gravity Capacitors reduces the utility of the craft and therefore the T2 gives a greater effect.

What else is a cov ops good for then scaning ? There is no other rig someone with a sane mind would put on a cov ops then the one for more scan strenth. And what are you talking about performance? Two T1 scan rigs yield a far better performance on a scan frig, then a T2 scan rig + some useless crap rig.

as if probe strength bonus were that important...

i mean it; a t2 is 15%, 2x t1 is 21%.
there's combat probers like force recons, stealth bombers or vagabonds/scimitars that don't even have a ship bonus and they are happy without any of this - so what if we can't probe some frigs... *shrug*

the *2 increments on probes have made these 5% or 10% strength bonuses rather pointless. sure, it adds up but it needs too many expensive extras to bump your probes "to the next level" so people just skip them altogether.

it's not like you're gonna find 5.21% more plexes with 2x t1 rigs instead of 1x t2 rig either [as could have been said with the old system]

the unprobe'able t3 low/null-sec mission runners or gang link users laugh at your perfect prober with billions in items and implants, too.

The post you quoted answered your question if you make an effort to think. What you seem to have done is restrict your scenario to encompass nothing but what you're interested in. I can think of a couple reasons to use the quoted combination of rigs, even if that's not my particular interest right now. Read what people write and then apply critical thinking skills to it.

The three exploration rigs really need to be looked at. While I agree, there are uses for the t2 grav cap + x rig. What X rig can be is really limited.
