Been going through a mission for the umpteenth time due to work shedule vs. Eve shedule, server reset, respawn, need to sleep, bodily functions, etc.

So I am trying to salvage a ship, a floating piece of dung I've killed many times before and I get this:

"the state bohi wreck is too far away, you need to be within 33000 metres of it but are actually 45086 metres of it."

While my ship sits parked 208 metres away.

The problem is no matter at what distance can I salvage. Tired of wasting my entertainment time on this thing. Adios Sad

Oh boo hoo.

Please contract your stuff to me.

Although if it takes you that long to run a mission and can't salvage, it's probably not worth it.

I see you don't like problem solving.

You are the weakest link, Goodbye.

Sounds like a de-synch problem, where your client is not in synch with the server - it happens (usually at the worst times).

Best thing is to restart your client. If that doesn't help, reboot your PC then re-start your client. If that doesn't help, a couple of glasses of Jack Daniels I find tends to do the trick. And you just won't care after that.

Wow a contructive bit of advice. l'll try that but kinda pointless to try now with 15 mins to reset.

Have you reported this bug? Chances are you can submit info to them and help to get it fixed.

It's worth trying some workarounds too, like try tractoring the wreck and see if it is still unsalvageable.

To be honest, I used to get the mystery unopenable cans. I just chose to ignore them.

If it's impeding you completing the mission then definitely petition that as a 'stuck' issue. If it's just a bit of salvage or the tags you are missing then it's really not that much of an issue. If you value your 'entertainment time' there are better things in eve than agonising over faulty wrecks. I mean no disrespect here.

Stick with the game man, try something else for a while if this is a problem for now.

Also I'd check your net connection is stable etc... could be your end causing a desynch. Worth considering.

Finally if you really are going to be leaving. consider passing your stuff to me, for being helpful and all Embarassed (joking)

Simply warp out and back in and you should be fine. If not, try docking to reset your sync.

Well thanks for the input. I've all but given up here, account cancelled, no desire to renew. I have no time to play with any productivity especially now with DST but whenI get hit with bugs, connection problems it just turns me off bigtime. Sad

You quit the game because your salvaging fails a single time? That's hilarious Laughing

I assume, when one of your colleagues makes a mistake at work, you instantly quit the job?

Your client is desynced, forcing a session change should resync it, this can be achieved by eg. jumping through a jumpgate or docking up. As stated earlier, restart of the client should fix it as well. Sadly this happens frequently, although I have noticed it happen less frequently as of late.
Last time i had it, my missiles poped out of thin air 20km away from me, made a spectacular show :)

also, if you are not going to play anymore, can i have you stuff? Embarassed

Umm no it is because I've had a few too many issues with thsi game vs. the time I have to play. Try geting anywhere on this thing when you have about 1 hr to do anything, adding in connection problems related to my crappy isp, an evident game bug vs. what I pay for this. I am just not getting any value from it. While it may work for you it isn't for me. Anyhoo I am done here.

You could of course just keep playing. Every game has its bugs. I think Eve really isn't so bad when it comes to glitches, so just learn to live with the smaller annoyances.

I have a friend who quit eve due to the long standing bugs and errors that they refuse to fix and acknowledge.
I also tried other online products and found their bugs to be either worse, or compounding by other factors, like loading time. Although to be fair, CCP have done their utmost to make Eve loading several times longer than it used to be. Maybe I can have another graphics option [Low Quality Textures "and I really mean it"].

So any point being, the grass is just as yellow and patchy over the fence.
Also, if you find the bugs that cause people to get CONCORDed that CCP refuse to acknowledge exist, then you have to presume it's working as intended. I believe most people call it number 3.

3. ???
4. Profit!

Hmmm ... not sure how "Try geting anywhere on this thing when you have about 1 hr to do anything, adding in connection problems related to my crappy isp" = "This game are ******ed." Guess I just 'is' not as smart as you are.

Heres why your desynching, its your ISP, desynch is far less common than it once was and and if its happening regularly to you then its your connection not the game.

Theres a lot you can achive in 1 hour, blow up someone, get blown up by someone, give X number of people a bad day or in the case of the forum trolls, give X number of people a great day when you emo quit on the forums.

As I said before my time to play has been curtailed by the switch to DST, which unless I forego showering and eating afterwork and other things, I have about one good hour to play, instead of a reasonable two hours. That is what I'm not satisfied with. Add to that the fact that last Sunday evening I got booted in the middle of a mission and couldn't reconnect until the next day, I've been struggling all week to get something done other than destroying and salvaging the same ships day after day then I "desynch" or whatever and find what time I did invest was for nothing, again. I quietly closed my account a few days ago(without emo quitting on the forums) when I realized Eve's schedule now isn't compatible with mine. I'm paid up to the end of January. I planned to rejoin when we go back to standard time but I'm having my doubts now, it could be my ISP or a downstream router. I was enjoying the game until recently.ugh
