Why merge a small window that must be visible at all times, the Broadcasts window, with a huge load of fluff that is needed at the beginning and end of an op if at all? Please rethink this and keep the Broadcasts window separate.

Great addition. Now, how about logging the salvaging actions, not only looting?

Yup, we'll aim for having those in as well.

While adding all these requests, why not also add an option for members to turn off logging without requiring the FC be asked for consent nor informing him that it has been turned off for that member.

This would allow people to steal while keeping a really nice and handy tool for honest people doing gangs.

Holy Crap!

Well done CCP. I gotta give kudos... at times it has seemed like CCP didn't play their own game, but this time you guys really hit the nail on the head in terms of trying to improve the process for the things that fleets actually have to deal with.

Extremely well done. Wow!

Is there any new way that I can wave my leadership skills e-peen around in fleets please?

Pointing poeople to my Elite Unit Leader, Battlespace Technician certificates often goes unnoticed and my ego needs inflating. Perhaps some Gold, Silver and Bronze stars based on leadership skills would be handy in fleets to show who has some skills and who's an awesome super-dude commander like me.

Just wondering if further down the line, the "show where FC, Squad commanders etc" are... translates to the Solar System Map and Star Map? Is this the beginning of the War room?

Can we get a Gallente elected Admiral in FW to be able to coordinate the fleets from a map or War room?

Oooh, so many exciting and spiffing possibilities. Cheers CCP.

Along with ship-type, ship-class info would be valuable. Perhaps for the future the ability to "force" new members into a specific squad based on ship type / class.

Also! Pilots can tag their ship with a particular role such as scout, tackle, remote-rep, etc. When they join fleet, they are automatically put into a similarly tagged squad. Or the fleet commander clicks an "organise" button and members are arranged as per their tag / role.

Have one broadcast option for squad mates (just call it Squad), and then a second one for subordinates if you are a wing or squad commander.

I can see where not having hull types on the fleet finder is a good thing, but have to agree that giving FC someting to let them see hull types for their fleet just makes sense.

Suggest:

FC (or those with Boss) have access to a more detailed fleet readout (or, "dashboard") showing the following:

1) Names of pilots, current positions in the fleet (wing1:squad1), type of ship (BS, etc.), class of ship (Thorax, etc.), current pilot star system name, leadership skills (FC1:WC5:L5, or something), and icons for fitted ewar (point, web, ECM, damp, TD, TP).

2) Readout should be sortable by columns like the overview is.

3) Readout should permit the ordering of pilot positions directly from it (via right-click functionality).

4) Readout should have a "performance" button, that outputs a list of kills (final blows), losses, systems, and timestamps for the pilots who were in the fleet at the time of the kill/loss, since formation of the fleet. This should be exportable into Excel as well. If desired, this feature could be moved to the main window and not the FC readout.

These would address most of the serious organizational issues that fleets have.

----

Regarding one suggestion posted about having an "align fleet/wing/squad" button... I would not recommend this, as it would be even more troublesome if accidentally (or maliciously) used, since it's not something that can be cancelled, unlike warp. Pilots should be simply paying attention to orders.

Bacause it is a gang, not a squad. Squad is a military unit, which implies formations. Eve has no fleet formations, so has no squads. It's gangs, so the option should be called "Broadcast to gangmates".

Will there be an option to shut off the combat noise and the music when someone speaks?
This could be very helpful (because yes, eve has sound and I use it).

We will not support completely open fleets from the get-go because of possible griefing and spamming potential but it's something that might possibly be added later.

So do I understand this right that there's a MANDATORY positive standing requirement of +0.1 on fleets now? Nice way to really screw people over there with that. I guess that will be the end of RVB Purple ops since there's no way in hell the corps would be set with positive standings against each other (We're at war with eachother for christ sakes!)

Also makes adhoc joint ops with multiple corps a hell since they need to manage standings to do a joint fleet, and THAT requires you to have atleast 1 director online so you can actually manage the standings, good luck with that.

Lose that standing requirement NOW.

If you dont like a standing requirement dont configure your gang to discriminate based on standings, simple.

the loot tool is really the most interesting thing here. If this tracking stuff picked up or just dropped from killmails that fleet got? What if some of the loot gets popd on the way home? Unless situations like that are addressed i see it doing more harm than good.

The point is: Even if you deselect the "Require Standing" rule, it still does require minimum of +0.1 standing if I understood it correctly. That's why I said it being mandatory. I really can't understand what was said any other way...

This does look wonderful. (See I don't HAVE to be *****ing! :))

A loot tracker is not only great but an awesome surprise. Eve is normally so busy fixing things in favour of thieves, scammers and lowlife in general that to see a measure to allow honest folk to track them seems extraordinary. Well done!

This just refers to the fleet finder which is new functionality. There is no new restriction on who can be in your fleet.

The mandatory restruction still feels very arbitrary though. We're in Eve, make it optional. I've flown together with neutrals/reds more than once, and having a fleet finder entry just based on security status (you must be this evil to enter..) or even without restriction (see the various ganknights where completele strangers gather without regards to standings and blow stuff up) would make the tool a lot more useful.

Squidlings. you know you want to.

Also please, pretty pretty please can give us a setting to allow fleet members to shoot each other. It's kinda needed for some potentially fun situations (not talking about greifng/tricking) and I'm sure militia hic pilots would love you for it.

First, awesome awesome awesome!!!!

second, Too lazy to read through it all, but a cool option would be (in conjunction with the ability to allow certain ship types in/ view ship types in fleet) to allow the FC to divert players to certain squads/wings based on ship type. So if you want all your tacklers to be in wing2 squad4, you could setup that every interceptor/frig/dic/hic would be auto moved there. Another varient on this is that Players could get the option of choosing what wing/squad they are joining, based on squad name/role.

Ya know what would be really handy ? To be able to r-click a fleet member and "set destination" if you're not in the same solar system. It would save all the "Where are ya ? Could you link that, please?" :)

Other than that, this looks blinking awesome :)

Good idea but it didn't work. Although you can untick the box you get a message saying

" You are registering your fleet in the Fleet Finder based on standing. You must choose the minimum standing."
Big disappointment that.

Possible griefing: How? The fleet leader is the one making it open. If they dont want to be griefed... dont make it open. The member joining the fleet and then getting griefed... dont join that fleet? So what? POSSIBLE GRIEFING IN EVE OMGZ CANT BELIEVES THIS!!!

Spamming: Petition them? They can spam anywhere... they get in trouble for it. I could goto some station buy out 100,000 small pos guns. Go outside Jita 4/4 and launch them. That's potential spamming also. So we should remove pos guns from the game because of the potential bad use of them.

Honestly you post 2 reasons which arent very valid at all. Then warrant creating crappy restrictions for no reason.

So, with that in mind we're putting the power into your hands. When you send any type of Fleet Broadcast you decide who should receive it. You can choose between superiors, subordinates and everyone. Your current broadcast mode is displayed prominently in the UI and you can assign a shortcut key to cycle between them.

Just wondering. If I need armor. Do I need to hit the armor. Then move my mouse way over to another window to decide who im broadcasting too? Or does it simply broadcast to everyone by default?

Another important addition is to allow people to quickly rejoin a fleet if they get disconnected (or try to activate an easter egg by holding down the control key and typing QWERTY).

Ive tried this several times now on sisi. I think it's bugged because it makes eve crash or a few times it activated godmode brought titan to ffa5 and the bh werent able to kill me.

It would be nice if the changes also apply to the system to tell your squad mates who is primary, secondary, etc.
Right now its hard to know in a big fleet fight who you are supposed to be shoting just using vent or the broadcast.
A better perfect system would have the target caller pick the target with one right click, no need to lock the target, them that targets icone would change in the overview of all fleet members.
