Is there any way of setting up your overview just to show scan probes?

Nope. Gotta tick off 'Use overview settings' and go through the list.

If you want your overview to just show scan probes, create a new tab in the overview, then open the overview settings for that tab, hit "deselect all" below the list of possible objects to show, and then search and select the specific probes you want it to show. Save these settings for future reference and to be able to easily switch between overview profiles.

If you want only scan probes to appear on the directional scanner (which is what the first reply was referring to), select "use overview setting" in the scanner while the probe tab is active. The downside of this is that neither your overview nor your scanner will show anything other than probes.

The best alternative would be to create a specific tab that only shows objects which are important to you in a given situation and, if necessary, use these settings for the directional scanner as well.

Since there is no specific item listing for probes in the overview settings tab the post #3 above is nonsense. Just uncheck the box and scroll down the list.

Honestly, we need the ability to add probes to the overview. I am getting sick and tired of looking at planets and moons. :(

Depends if you're the prober or the target; as a prober I'm quite happy that there's no overview setting for it.

here's a free tip.. sort by distance in the directional scanner so that the closest objects are displayed first.
everything it can't get a distance for will be displayed above everything it can get a distance for.
aka probes and ships before planets and moons.

Scan probes shouldn't show up on the scanner at all. A cloaked Cov-ops is virtually useless if everyone can see the scan probes.........
