Quit. When CCP asks you why, you tell 'em. Only way it gets changed is if it starts hurting CCP's wallet.

Just put your camera on the ninja, and target and destroy any and all wrecks he starts flying to. Its actually quite humorous. Sure, if you wanted the salvage you miss out on it, but you still get your LP and payouts and the satisfaction of seeing the failed ninja flail about wasting his time.

Then return a few minutes later and you can salvage the ninja's wreck, too.

Even better, I usually run a few pockets, then salvage them, then go back and finish the final pockets.
I had completed the 3rd pocket of a particular mission, knowing that the next pocket had web/scramblers 5km from the warp-in point, so I decided to stop there, and salvage the wrecks I had so far, as I was low on ammo, and nearing bedtime anyway (rats wait, wrecks don't).
Anyway there I was, salvaging away, when a salvage looter popped in. He was trying to get the wrecks, but my 100MN fitted Hurricane was faster, and I got to them first, one by one. Well, he must have thought that as I was busy here, he'd start stealing from the next pocket, and took the gate...poor fool

I lol'ed at his little wreck!

It's not like you are scanned down in every mission you are in. If you are then you sure picked a nice place to mission.

Perhaps moving to a quieter part of space to mission might solve the issue. And if you get scanned down once every so often just relax, it happens. This is EvE, things happen. Laugh and move on.

You'll be amazed how entertaining EvE can be if you lose that fixed focus on what entertainment is for you and adapt to situations that arise.

Easily avoided. Just use your scanner and scan occasionally, looking for combat scanner probes or their variations. If ya see them, just warp out and come back when they are gone. Dunno why people keep whining about ninja salvagers and so on when all they have to do is keep their scanner open, lol.

I think ninja salvaging was put in to eve intentionally to get people to leave crowded space and put less strain on the poor server hamsters.

you are right something should be changed about can stealing. If someone comes into your mission and takes 10 or so cans with you doing nothing you ship should explode spontaneously - or perhaps when you dock it transfers to them. Is that the kind of 'fix' you had in mind?

ServantOfMask, I am afraid that you have compleatly misunderstood what freedom of speech actually means, and thereby how you are legally allowed to use it. Freedom of speech does not grant you the right to flame someone, it only grants you the right to say whats on your mind aslong as you are not intentionally attempting to hurt someone.

EDIT

Just so that you are all aware, while playing a game or writing on the internet you are still bound by the laws of your own government.

Wrong!
This.

Pretty sure the whole point of Freedom of Speech was to allow flaming. Granted it was verbal, and mostly about royalty and government policies (taxes), but things evolve with time. Cool

And as a counter-point, any freedom of speech you may enjoy in your own country is irrelevant and void on a privately owned forum.

I would urge you to read about limitations to freedom of speech, more specifically "harm principle" and "offense principle" regarding hate speech and defamation.

thing is I activate a smartbomb to get rid of these nifty fast moving frigates...the bastard jumps in my mission and of course he got hit by the SB blast...not even 2 secs later Concord showed up blasting my battleship to dust...is that still "game mechanics" when a bloody thiefon a trial account is able to destroy the battleship I was playing 4 weeks for ?

Always bear in mind that not anyone is able to play 24/7 and when I occasionally log in to have a few hours of fun ( which for me is to see my wallet go up no matter what low sec PvPers say ) and such people show up I doubt there actually is much fun left in the long run...yet again its just my opinion...

Yes, since the games gives you a big honking "Omgz, you're about to activate an AoE weapon in highsec, which is likely to cause collateral damage and make CONCORD nuke your arse!!" warning sign.

If you choose to ignore that warning, then that's your problem and your fault.

You make how much / hour from your missions including LP? If your salvage is worth that much fly a ship with a tractor beam and a salvager on it.

If you don't want to do that either...
A: Ask said person to stop (oh thee of little faith in humanity.)
B: Try and strike a deal, you can mission and do fast salvaging at the same time. (Not a bad deal if he/she keeps his promise.)
C: Shoot the wreck and lose your mods. (Greedy much? See top question.)
D: Be smart and let him do it and scoop the mods.

it might be the wrong game...if people interact even in unwanted ways fine with me for sure...now a GM just contacted me and said "right if he loots Im free to kill him but if he just salvage my wrecks concord has no issue with him and thats why the GM cant do anything"...now thats great...if Im walking around somewhere and someone is trying to steal my case he hasnt turn around and he would lie and the floor bleeding...in this game its not even possible to punish someone whos activly stealing...just because a virtual police force seems to be not offend by salvaging wrecks...until now that was the most funny excuse Ive seen...

Confirming this is why the petition system is so slow.

They need to get people responding to silly petitions to harden the F up on their responses.

If I may:

"Since you are obviously a person who takes the short bus to school and wear a hockey helmet even when you aren't playing hockey - then I shall explain it to you.

This is not a single player game and we aren't your nanny. Harden the F up."

Thank you for contacting a CCP GM through the petition mechanism.

one more thought.. The game has become squishy, look at them all. They are becoming pink and fuzzy aren't they. I might just have to get my own carebear someday, but i will have to find a model that is low on the whine meter I'd hate to have to pull the stuffing outta my own carebear.

You guys and your easy livin now days, geez. find something worthwhile to whine about, like....um....what happened to wtfbbqpwnbs?

yes I wear a helmet if Im driving the bike as my children needs a father and I simply dont want to risk loosing my life just because of a dull moment and my head hitting the ground thank you...beside that I honestly doubt you want to face me in real life when you cant hide behind your computer monitor...

as said above already I still have the right to say what I think same as you claim for yourself...if you dont have anything constructive to say feel free to not post same goes for anyone else trying to spread around insults...
