Me and the guys in the minmatar channel were talking about this and we decided to make an official request..

We want plush toys. Ogre drones. Stuffed ships. A fuzzy Neutron Blaster Cannon to point at people and say, "PEow, PEow!"

I know nothing that would make me more likely to keep playing.

Who's with me?

I don't know why, but I think there might be a plush Fedo coming along with them... let's hope the smell doesn't.

Erm... and a plush Armageddon might require some special attention... I think... based on it's general appearance... Embarassed

I got a friend who has a table top games company (Ground Zero Games) and I've been trying to get him interested in licencing a set of whitemetal EVE ships and things.

suely you wouldnt pass up the chance to have a nice large model of your fleet on your montor top :)

must try harder to get him intested

I've been doing some greens for whitemetal casting (Not good enough to open my own company yet) and I think it's a great idea, but hard to do.
When casting with a two part mold you have to split the model into different pieces for every plane in the overall design and for some ships in eve that would mean models with dozens of pieces, others like Dominix are too massive to be cast in one piece too if you want to give them the apropriate scale... Very Happy
Btw, love the ships on that webside...

Whitemetal and plushies be damned....we want plastic glue together kits! None of the problems associated with whitemetal castings, PLUS you could have them much bigger.

Then you could have the fun of building your own Scorp...though this will of course require "Plastic Kit Assembly Level 5".

Plus you could paint it as you want - like you SHOULD be able to in game. Haven't CCP HEARD of skins yet? Sad

Creating a mold for whitemetal: ~$300
Creating a mold for plastic: ~$50000

I don't think it's realistic to assume that the market for these models would be big enough to justify the costs of producing them...
