I've decided to finally get a Raven and I was wondering what fit would be best to quickly destroy a Manticore without any problems. I know a Manticore is T2 Frigate but I don't know a lot about tech 2 ships and what they can do or what their main purpose is for. So, what would be my chances for a Raven vs. Manticore. Dont worry about what my skills are. I can always train for them. And let's just say that the pilot of the Manticore is well-skilled.

Well, a Raven is not really the ideal ship for engaging frigates. The worst enemy of a stealth bomber is probably going to be a combat interceptor that can quickly close distance, point and then **** while taking almost no damage in return from the torps.

That being said, a Raven would probably want/need:

- Sensor Boosters w/ Scan Resolution scripts in order to actually lock the ship in a reasonable amount of time (plus a lot of SB's fit sensor damps which makes it worse). This is kind of iffy on a Raven since your mids are really valuable and needed for your tank.
- A heavy neut to cap the Manticore out once it's in range. This isn't too bad since you have two utility highs to work with.
- Warrior II's in the drone bay because (1) They're fast and can close the ~40km range to the ship quickly and (2) They can actually hit and damage a frigate, unlike the torps you probably have fit to your ship. This works out pretty well with the 75m3 a Raven gets as you can bring a flight of lights and a flight of mediums.
- A long range point of some sort (ie: Warp Disruptor II).

Frankly, your biggest issue is just catch the little bugger as he can cloak and hit you from a range outside of where you can point. If you lock him down and put your drones on him he will probably melt in 5 seconds.

Also, expect kinetic damage and adjust your hardeners to that.

Let me guesss... This is a situation of a new player thinking that battleships are wtfpwnmobiles and a corp member/buddy who is more experienced has challenged you to a duel in your poorly skilled and fit raven.

Lets just say that I see raven wreckage in the future Cool

Quick answer: If the Manticore tackles you, don't worry about it. You should be worried about what pours in from the covert cyno... another 30 of them... and the BOLaughingCool

Never noticed how many turret slots a Raven had until I started throwing lolfits together for this... You can just about squeeze four 1400mm IIs on, only needs what, three group hits? :) squeeze some sort of launcher on too to make the guy think you're throwing ineffective missiles first, and that should wake him up.

In other words, a Raven is entirely the wrong thing to be shooting at long-range frigates in. Even if you damped him to get him to come in closer, he's gonna be sboosted anyway, so he's just gonna buzz around and laugh at you.

Ah ok then. The easiest way to kill a dumb interceptor pilot is to bomb them from 45 KM. They turn MWD on and burn towards you and you just wait.

A well-skilled bomber pilot will likely eat your solo Raven for lunch. He can damp you so you can't target him, while he has you painted and launches T2 torps at you from 90km out. If you do manage to target him, he can just warp away, then return to finish the job. He'll force you to either warp out, or die. Either way it's unlikely you'll get to kill him. Bombers can shape their own battlefield, and thus can dictate the engagement to their advantage.

Ravens are not meant to be used as solo PvP ships - they just become juicy targets for anyone around, and they go down fast. PvP Ravens are meant to be fleet support ships - remote repping or DPS support.
