Are there any plans to release a further set of learning skill books?

I'm starting to balk at the idea of training *yet another* 68 day skill. I don't feel like there's any progression once you start getting to the big ships and advanced skills. The time is all taken waiting for that one level to finish before you can do something else with your character.

So you're training a second Titan skill to 5?

And no. CCP has already said they regret putting the learning skills in the game in the first place.

Have they, is that an official position or the sentiments of a single developer? I can only imagine how inane things would be in terms of waiting without learning skills and implants.

If you're training capital ships, you should already be able to fly a wide range of sub-capitals. You could always train another racial frigate (8 days) and T2 small guns (5 days) and open up a whole bunch of new ships to play with.

True, I could. Yet it's things like the research skills and the Capital Support module skills that are the biggies really. The 14x and above skills and such.

If they aren't going to put anymore in, then they aren't. I just wondered if it was planned or not. I don't want an argument ^^

I believe you and I are in the minority for those who want this. I have strongly encouraged the creation of what I called Elite Learning Skills, but CCP is deathly afraid of releasing any more Learning skills because too many players (thanks, in part, to me) believe they are required skills to train.

My basic philosophy was that the more learning skills you add, the less people will feel required to train them. If you're interested,I can dig up the old thread where I assembled my entire argument. I think I bookmarked it on my home computer.

68 days for another skill to 5 is grossly overstated, there are very very few skills in Eve that take more than a month. Basically just some primary capital skills. Hell, there isn't even a skill that takes 68 days, not even Titan I to V takes that long (61.5 days for me)
