http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=698 sure makes it sound like it's been dropped with phrases like: "With the release of EVE Online: Dominion this winter the minimum system requirements needed to run the EVE client will become Windows XP Service Pack 2. We will at the same time officially support Windows 7." and "Currently the minimum system requirements are Windows XP but with Dominion they will become Windows XP Service Pack 2. This is due to Chromium's dependence on Windows HTTP Services version 5.1 (winhttp.dll)." Can we get a definitive statement on MacOS support in Dominion? |

Guess it could happen, though I think they just forgot OSX players and/or the requirements don't change... |

I would have thought that they'd add an "or Mac OS X 10.5.x or higher" to the minimum requirements then. Hopefully you're right and we're merely being forgotten rather than kicked out. |

Perhaps. Although the last official word was 2 days ago in that thread and it said that they had no ETA. It certainly wouldn't be the first time a company started trying to support something and decided to cut bait when they ran into a problem with that support. /me is trying to not be too paranoid. |

Hi all,
There is no need to be paranoid or bring out your tinfoil hat. We are not dropping support for the Mac client in Dominion. |

Thank you for the positive response, Casqade. I will return to using my tinfoil hat only to protect myself from the orbital mind-control rays. |

So what do I do with the 300 tonnes of aluminium foil I have at home then? |

well, the "tinfoil hat" response was pretty clear (actually once had a professor who lined his ubiquitous fishing hat with aluminum foil, and yes, we cruelly mocked him), but does that mean there will be no changes to system requirements for the MAC client?? anyone else have fans running like mad (6000 rpm)? Thanks! |
