I started playing Eve 1 year ago or so, but I had only 1 account. I created a new one a few days ago to have an Alt ... Rolling Eyes

Trouble is, It seems I can't play both characters at the same time, which I should be able to do ... both accounts are legal. Can you help ?

Thanks !
Very Happy

Make sure both accounts are out of trial. If one is still in the trial status you cannot play them simoultanously. Other than that should not be a problem. Maybe describe what exactly doesnt work with it.

Is the new one considered a trial account? Both have to paid accounts "legal" or not.

How do you run two different installs? I run two accounts on the same install so I'm essentially just running two instances of the same program. Is it more beneficial to run it off two installations?

Also, why wouldnt you be able to run a trial and regular account at the same time?

Yes you can play 2 accounts on the same install, but while one account is in trial it won't let you dual box. I have 2 accounts and only 1 install for tranquility and singularity and that's enough to let me play both accounts on both servers.

I think not being able to run a trail alongside a full account is to stop isk farmers and scammers using trial accounts to do their work.

You could use your second install for the test server, singularity.

Because CCP wrote the code to check for that and block it.

Use two machines, or 1 machine and a virtual machine (if the main rig is good spec)

False.
You can play an Alt trial with a full account.

Run EVE, log in with full account.
Open Programs folder > CCP > Right click EVE.exe "properties" > Compatibility > Select a different run as > apply

Log in with Alt Trial. works.

Thank you ... I should have mentioned that my accounts are both paying ones. So ... no trial accounts here

Note that if you play in windowed mode like I do and switch between them, there is a setting somewhere in the ESC menus that labels the windows with the character name. This makes it easier to select the right window from the task bar.

The main reason it was removed was people were using trial account as disposable scouts in low sec, they did not cost the player anything but provided a significant advantage.

As someone mentioned you can have the character name shown in windowed mode. I personally run two separate copies of Eve, but this goes back a couple of years to when running two instances of eve from the same folder could cause stability problems if one crashed.

Are you running with sound enabled ? this has caused problems in the past then running multiple accounts.

Another tip, I play with the basic menu color so just looking at the chat background etc tells me which account I am on. really helps then you are not paying to much attention and have the menu bar off screen. Mt main has the black background color and my secondary a reddish color.
