Splash screens are so 99.

That said, the little "players currently online" thingy is kinda neat.

It's sessioned for one visit - shame really - I personally wouldn't mind seeing it each time and there being a button to continue to EVE-O main menus... with maybe a submit checkbox for those that don't want to see it through choice (like an application splash screen).

Side note: Laggy with safari 4. Heck, the game runs better than this flash stuff.

I think it's annoying, I don't want to try or buy EVE and I couldn't find a button to go to the main site, refreshing the page worked.

Go away.

Perhaps the self-proclaimed highly intelligent Eve community can look in the upper right corner.... Razz

You would think that ferox's nav computer was installed with some minnie code with all the swanning about its doing as it flys around. They also have captured the essence of eve for the masses in the flash. Mining and gate wars. Laughing

Well, this is bloody wide open to interpretation: It's currently saying "Undefined Pilots online". Undefined? What are we, Lady Gaga or that South African runner chick?

Nooo... you got it backwards... "undefined PILOTS ONLINE" means there are undefined pilots online, and we shall go forth, hunt and squish them !

shiny, but way too large.

last time i checked 1440x900 was a perfectly acceptable resolution to browse the intertubez with, even for the generally hardware-enthusiastic eve community...

So it is, because my screen happens to be that. Very Happy

Edited, addition results after more testing.

I found it annoying, for some reason it takes about a minute to load on my machine*, till it finished loading I could not get the proceed to eve button to work.

If this keep happening every time I load eve, it will be time to remove eve form the list of sites that are allowed to run flash on my machine.

*As for people who are going to say get a better machine, I can run two clients with the full graphics enabled.

I get this problem every time I open a new browser window and got to the eve home page.

This heavy reliance on flash etc tends to put me off games.

So basically what you are saying is you can dualbox eve just fine but for whatever reason the "heavy" flash makes your machine crawl on it's knees?
PFF! Get real, it's not flash that is at fault here but merely user failure to maintain a working browser and flash software. Update much?

Here's an analogy that i think matches your situation...

"I Don't want to update my graphics drivers but for some odd reason all my games have crappy FPS and i can't browse the internet since it's so darn slow. The reason i don't wanna update my graphics drivers is because there is ONE game that works well that wont when i upgrade. That means, the rest of the 99.99999% of the world will have to conform to my situation and go back to Windows 3.1 and Netscape 2.1! Either way, poor decision CCP!"

All drivers, browser (fire fox) and flash are up to date (manually checked weekly). It the actual download time, as soon as it stop downloading it starts to play.

As for the reason you suggested I did not upgrade graphic drives, That's why I keep my secondary machine's primary partition o a caddy drive so I can swap OS without without one causing problems with others.
