Damn i can't see any use of Tracking Distruptors.
I've tested them allot but they really don't do any good.
And they bug also, after you have turn it of, the grid sphere still pulses.

Actually they do work pretty well.
I know that I have a heck of a time trying to hit a tyhphoon who was using them. I was in a meagtrhon using electrons with BS lv 4. It brought down my DOT by a lot.
The problem is, there are so many better things you could fit into you mid slots. And they are also uslesas against missile users. Which more or less means the >3 of the ships you come across will not be effective.
If you knew for a fact that you are going up against a gun boat they might be a better choice. But personally i would rather fit 3 racial jammers on a megathron then a trcking disrupture.

If it wasnt for the "beach ball" effect, I'd actually use the. They are very effective against turret using BSs, you jsut need 1 to turret jam your target (opposed to the need of using more than 1 of ECM/remote sensor dampers), only downside is they are useless against missile users.

It really looks like an unfinished module, the FX, the bug, deserves a look into after CCP is done with Shiva...

Just to confirm. You're not trying to use them against NPCs, are you?

Oh oh oh! A thread that I should have started a long time ago! Wink

I have to agree, erm...well no..I'll ask instead.

Do they work?
Aginst what do they work?
- Ship type
- Gun type
What ship do you need to be in for it to work?

I know that ppl says it works against a BS guns when you
have an equal or somewhat smaller ship. However, if I have this
fitted on a inty/frig against another inty/frig they are of
no use? I only tried this a couple of times. Died horribly.
What about hmm...me in Thorax/Moa someone else in something
like BB/Caracal (I know, the BB would most likely jam you in other
ways but hey...)?

Oh, and do they only work on guns? Not laser systems?
Oh again, the gfx bug that have existed forever kinda
suggests that the module may need some work as a hole?

All info appriciated.

LOWA

No , i tested it on frigs and cruisers with small blasters, last time was on a thorax, i orbitted it on 5 k, i had mwd on, and it missed me 1 out of ~10.

i have a question too, do they have any effect on apoc/arma with larers ?, cus that i havent tested yet.

They work just fine, I really never understood why people don't use them ... well apart from the buggy gfx effect.

Have them on a lot of setups.

Either that or they don't work and I am just uber lucky and people miss a lot.

They don't work well against frigates or cruisers because their guns have good tracking and can stil hit ok even with their tracking halved. Use them against Large weapons though and you will notice a difference. Even against the "fast" tracking short range guns. The biggest effect though is when you are up close and personal where tracking matters as much as dam mod. At longer ranges it won't do as much of a difference.

I haven't checked if they're actually available yet but i assume they are:

get the tech II version, it has better debuffs... not by a great deal but you only need to get the skill to level 2 to use it... i'd imagine it's not going to be too expensive either seing as demand is not very high.
