Forum nerf is working, but it would be better to simply deny trial accounts the ability to link websites, wouldn't it?

Since well before the spam started. They've been burning paid/GTC accounts the whole time.

Trials haven't been able to post since about the same time the CAOD 10 person corp minimum post thing came in, hell it could have been longer.

They are not trial accounts. They actually pay to post crap. Apparently some of the self-proclaimed uber-smart Eve community still clicks enough links to make it worth it.

Confirming what has already been said in this thread: Trial users are not allowed to post on the forums.

Or use stolen credit card details to make the account so it costs them nothing or a couple of dollars to by the stolen card details, after all they don't care is CCP gets a charge back and the account getting banned for using a stolen credit card.

Biggest hint: spammers don't post links anymore. They "make" you copy/paste the http reference so you don't see the CCP warning.

Trial accounts haven't been able to post for a long time. What happens is that people are stupid enough to fall for the links, get keylogged, get their stuff stolen and their accounts used to spam more links. Alternatively stolen credit cards are used to create more accounts.
